Based on Robert Kirkman’s groundbreaking comic book series, The Walking Dead is a five part episodic Adventure Horror game that will be available for digital download this spring for all major gaming platforms.

Telling the story of a new group of survivors as they struggle to flee the horror of Atlanta and the surrounding communities consumed by the undead, The Walking Dead offers players the chance to experience the very first days of the apocalypse.

Dan Connors, Telltale co-founder and CEO said:
Telltale has always believed in sharing and interacting with our fans as much as possible as we head towards the launch of a game and Playing Dead is an exciting evolution of that process. I don’t think any other developer or publisher has created anything quite like this before and we really hope that people will enjoy it.

Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead added:
What’s really exciting is that they’re telling a new story with new characters, so you’ll get to see the same world Rick Grimes did, but now from a different point of view

Here's a teaser trailer for the game...

Season 2 in the pipeline

From PSU

TellTale will release all five PlayStation Network and Xbox Live games on disc at retail, but only once the episodes have finished rolling out digitally. No official word on pricing yet, but Season 1 probably shouldn’t be over $30~ when it launches at retail, we think.

Another interesting note is that the retail version might not be released outside of North America.

"Following the digital release of our fifth episode we will also be coming to North American retail shortly thereafter and this will not be the last The Walking Dead game series that we do," said SVP of Marketing, Steve Allison to Polygon.

The interesting part of that quote is the fact that Telltale openly admits that Episode 1 is not the end of The Walking Dead’s episodic series.

Also Part 3
Part three of Telltale Games five-part Walking Dead game series will be released in the “middle of August.”

"Although we can't give you an exact date at this time, we can say that episode three will be ready in the middle of August, and that we and our partners will do all that we can to release all platforms and regions as close together as possible," confirmed Telltale on its official website.

Played the demo for Episode 1 last night and quite enjoyed it... it left me wanting to play/see more anyway. My only gripe with it were the controls and camera angles, but I reckon it's something that I'll easily get used to.

Just about to buy the Season Pass now, so hopefully I won't be disappointed! Going by everyone's posts in here though, I'm sure I won't be. :D

Well I finished the first episode last night and I absolutely loved it! I'm already wanting to replay it just so I try out the different options/choices. Think I'll get Episode 2 out of the way first though. :)

I haven't started this yet. I wanted to but I think i'm going to wait until all 5 are out so I can just play through them one after another.
Good idea mate... at least that way you won't be begging for more once you've completed an episode. I've just spent the night making my way through Episode 2 and now I'm dying to know what happens next! Although I suppose it's actually a good thing that no more episodes are available yet, otherwise I'd be sat on the PS3 for a week straight. :p

Superb game, i got it for ps3 and xbox so i can do the opposite decisions on each console lol.:scat:

It looks like Episodes 1 & 2 are free this week for PS+ members. Good deal for anyone who hasn't delved into this one yet.

I can't wait for Episode 3!!!

Yeah. I'm going to be annoyed if they all end up being free soon. lol. I'm thinking 1 and 2 are free to try to get you to buy the last 3 to finish up the story. Good marketing. :)

And i've heard they're excellent. I can't wait to get into them.

Funny thing about this is that norrnally this would annoy me because I am a PS+ member but the game is so good that I don't mind. I guess this does speak to the quality of the game. I think that this is far and away Telltale's best game to date :scat:

They are excellent. Simple really, but alot of fun. Hope the wait for Ep3 isn't as long as it was for 2.

I'm still struggling internally about playing this before all 5 are out.

id play them if i was you as it might be a while before they all come out, also the fact the chance of spoilers ect. I played Ep 3 last night and have to say it was a surprising episode and cannot wait for Ep 4.:scat:
