Some like these, some don't. Only reason they keep recycling titles is that they sell. So, I'm not interested in them...and the only way to show that is to not buy and hope they don't sell well and we will start to get more unique titles.

I've just pre ordered the 2 I want from amazon.com and it has come to $42.93 including shipping. This works out at roughly £26 to the uk which I thought wasn't bad. Anyone know if I will have import /custom charges on that to the uk or do I just scrape it? Cheers

I've just read somewhere that anything over £18 from the us will have import /custom charges but the source of that info was quite old. Usually when I order it's only one item and it's usually below £18 so I have no charges. If I will have charges on the £26 spent on amazon us then I might cancel one and order it after the other has been sent in November. If anyone can clear that up for me then I will be grateful. Thanks

The limit is goods valued at £15, prior to the addition of shipping charges. It was reduced from £18 about 3 years ago. Anything over the value of £15 is liable to the imposition of Import VAT at 20%, which is also levied on the shipping charges, plus you'll also have a Royal Mail handling charge of £8 to pay. You need to base your calculations on the official HMRC monthly exchange rate not the one used by the banks. You'll find it on the HMRC website. Obviously, they won't publish their exchange rate for November until the end of October, so you'll have to be prepared for fluctuations between now and then.

Unless the price of these Steelbooks drops before release date, and drops in sufficient time for the value of your order to be adjusted before it is shipped, it's odds on that you are going to get caught out. You can avoid the Customs charges by keeping to one Steelbook per order. Although this will increase your total shipping charges, it will still work out cheaper than what you'll end up paying if you're over the limit.

If you ever place a large order with amazon.com, choose the expedited shipping option which enables you to pay the Import VAT up front. That way you'll avoid the extortionate Royal Mail handling charge. Doesn't apply to orders from amazon.ca though.

One final caveat in respect of ordering Steelbooks from both amazon.com and amazon.ca. Unless your order is sufficiently large enough to warrant them being sent in a box, they will be shipped in Jiffy Bags! So be prepared for a percentage of them to arrive damaged.

Hope this assists.

At Amazon.com you have the option of AmazonGlobal whereby the import taxes are paid upfront...The total package will cost more but will not be held up in customs, so, no whack.

Cheers for that, I did select gift option too so that the price don't show but wasn't sure if that would work. I'm only interested in psycho and scarface. I actually really like the art for them. I might keep scarface on order and order psycho after pictures surface. So far the very few things I've ordered from the US and Canada have not had charges on when they arrive but that's always been 1 item around the £15 mark.

To be honest with all the bad feedback this wave is recieving I might cancel and wait for price drops and eBay. Also to see if back art is good (HMV slips have quotes which is a bit annoying) and inside art. I've just convinced myself to cancel lol
