I think we have a winner for the upcoming Best Looking Steelbook for 2015. Mondo are gonna have a hard time outdoing themselves. They got my vote on this one :)
This may sound a teensy bit extreme to some but if Mondo were the only ones producing steelbooks I really don't think I'd complain. I'm quite new to the ol' steelbook game and my modest haul sits at around 18/19 at the moment... but the four Mondo titles that I already own are probably the only ones that I regularly take off the shelf to look at and admire much in the same way that I admire the artwork in my favourite graphic novels. Can't wait to add Pan's Labyrinth and Dredd to the collection. And I can't wait to see what the future holds for Mondo :)

Ahh, I hope it doesn't sound like I was dismissing Plain Archive or any other company for that matter. I was just kinda speaking from my limited experience with steelbooks and about the ones that I own (4 from Mondo, 2 from Play.com and the rest from Zavvi) - So if Zavvi and Play stopped doing steelbooks, that's what I kinda meant really. But, yeah, I've heard nothing but great things said about Plain Archive. Adding a PA title to my collection is definitely on my to-do list... but truthfully I'm just waiting for them to do the steelbook treatment for a film that I really love, you know? I'm sure that time will come sooner rather than later :)

They are nice to have in a collection. But the truth is- Mondo is a one trick pony. They all have the same exact look.
I would hate it if all steelbooks looked this way. I like having the small amount they put out, but they all look the same. I find Mondo art in general to be 50/50 at best. They are the 'hip flavor of now' at the moment - but they make some interesting stuff AND some godawful pieces of sh!t. If you would take a monopoly of Mondo over a Blufans or PLAIN, you oughta check yer head!;):p

What are the odds of this being Region A locked? Were the other releases in this territory region locked? Don't want to order this unless it's region free really as I already own the French tin and Japanese steelbook but would sell those if this would work with my Region B player

I think Mondo LOOPER was region "A" locked so... Probably the same for DREDD

Current North American Blu-rays of "Dredd" (US Lionsgate / Canada Alliance) are both Region A locked.

There is no reason to expect this disc to be any different.

Looks really nice, but I could do without the Best Buy logo printed on the clear slip. At least the Future Shop logo looked somewhat classy next to the Mondo and Steelbook logos...

Also, I'll be picking this up in store. Tired of waiting a full week for my steel to be shipped and delivered
