Nominees will be posted in this thread after announcement.

Per Oscars site:

Nominations for the 85th Academy Awards® will be announced by the show’s host, Seth MacFarlane, and actress Emma Stone on Thursday, January 10. This will be the first time since 1972 that an Oscar show host has participated in the nominations announcement.
MacFarlane and Stone will unveil the nominations at a 5:30 a.m., PT news conference at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, where hundreds of media representatives from around the world will be gathered.

Since the first nominations announcement in 1964, the Academy president has been joined by one or more co-announcers at the event. This year the Academy will break with tradition when MacFarlane, who was named Oscar show host in October, joins Stone on Oscar nominations morning. Charlton Heston (1972) was the only other show host to participate in the nominations announcement.
Stone starred in the 2011 Best Picture nominee “The Help” and the summer release “The Amazing Spider-Man.” Other film credits include “Superbad,” “Zombieland,” “Easy A” and “Crazy, Stupid, Love.” In addition she can be seen in “Gangster Squad” later this month, as well as in “The Croods,” due out in March.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2012 will be presented on Oscar Sunday, February 24, 2013, at the Dolby Theatre™ at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and televised live on the ABC Television Network. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 225 countries worldwide.

who id like to win each award not who i think will supporting actor Christoph Waltz, Django Unchained supporting actress Anne Hathaway, Les Miserables best director Ang Lee, Life of Pi best actor this one was cooper or hugh but cooper i thought was awesome in sliver linings best actress jen lawrance and film les mis

Argo's been killing it with these award shows, winning the Golden Globes, the Producer's Guild, and most recently the ensemble acting award at SAG (which while not a "best picture" award, did unseat Lincoln which had two SAG winners - Tommy Lee Jones and Daniel Day-Lewis plus another nominee in Sally Fields). Will be interesting to see if Argo can take the BAFTAs and who ends up winning the Director's Guild award.

I watched The Sessions last night and am absolutely astounded that John Hawkes was not nominated. He alway gives a good performance and is amazing in this.

Who knows what will happen on Oscar night? I don't put too much faith in "the academy" voters. They usually award the Oscars to movies/actors that aren't fan favorites and weren't that successful at the box office. I'll probably dvr the telecast (because I hate commercials) to watch later. Would like to the wealth spread this year with Oscars for Argo, Silver Linings Playbook, Les Mis, and Django Unchained. I was very disappointed with Lincoln...probably one of the most over-hyped films I've seen in recent years.

Daniel-Day Lewis deserves to win best actor, Ang Lee for director (since they omitted Affleck), Lawrence or Chastain for actress (both are equally deserving), hopefully Waltz for supporting actor (though Tommy Lee Jones is completely worthy), Tarantino for original screenplay (if Amour wins I'll be so pissed), and Argo for best picture. That is what should happen, but these Academy people make some pretty screwed up decisions sometimes.

Will anyone be watching this? I'm tempted just for Seth MacFarlane. Anyway I'm bored so here are my guesses:

Best Picture- Argo Best Actor- Daniel Day Lewis Best Actress- Emmanelle Riva
Supporting Actor- Waltz Supporting Actress- Hathaway Directing- Spielberg
Original Screenplay- Django Unchained Adapted Screenplay- Life of Pi
Foreign Film- Amour Animation- Wreck-It Ralph Documentary- The Invisible War
Cinematography- Life of Pi

Argo was boring...too much hype for that movie... a movie that I would never watch again.

Then again, Oscar winners are usually for boring movies LOL...

And again, what is so special about Beasts of the Southern Wild? LOL

just my opinion :)

Best movie: Argo
Best director: Ang Lee for Life of PI
Best actor: Daniel Day Lewis
Best actress: Jennifer Lawrence
Best supporting actor: Christoph Waltz
Best supporting actress: Anna Hathaway
Best original screenplay: Quentin Tarantino for Django Unchained

an ok show... a little bit lenghty and not a lot to talk about... Seth Mcfarlane did some good but a lot more bad jokes during the evening... awesome live presentation for Les Miserables.

Jennifer Lawrence trips and falls as she climbs the steps to accept her award... youtube moment for the next 25 years... :p

But, BEST MOMENT:
Just to hear Ben Affleck final speech (no grudge...), it was worth it ;)
