THEY WILL RISE TO SUCK THE BLOOD OF THE LIVING!

From the sleazy video nasty vaults comes a movie so stained with controversy and moral indignation that the very mention of its name sends shudders down the spines of the weak stomached and censorious Zombie Flesh Eaters. A gut-munching, shark wrestling, eye-gouging orgy of topless skin divers, mud-caked undead terror and Italian splatter from the dark imagination of horror genius Lucio Fulci (The Beyond, City of The Living Dead).

An abandoned boat in New York Harbour unleashes a deadly flesh crazed Zombie cargo... A Young American woman and a journalist investigate a tropical island where a deadly disease is making the dead walk... Soon, thoughts of getting to the bottom of the murderous curse will be forgotten, as Fulci s walking corpses overwhelm the living and reports come in that the Big Apple is swarming with the living dead...

After over thirty years, Zombie Flesh Eaters still has the power to shock and offend the unwilling... Check out this classic sadist video and revel in a wonderfully tasteless movie that once helped usher in a moral panic!

I've never seen this movie before, I do really like zombie movies though, what is it like? If I really liked Dawn of the Dead (original and remake), Night of the Living Dead (1990), Return of the Living Dead etc. would this be my cup of tea do you think? lol

Its the Italian unofficial sequel to Dawn of the dead and some say far superior than Romero,s movie. I love it and its my favorite zombie. It has the best eye gouging and zombie vs shark attack in any movie enough to make it a classic :scat:

it's lightyears ahead of Romero's film only because the gore/special effects and they are amazing. I love Italian horror movies from Argento, Fulci, and Bava, so I welcome any steel from them; this is my 2nd favorite behind The Beyond

hopefully i should get the specs for this tomorrow or Friday morning (they usually put an embargo on all news until 1pm

already got the US BD but will gladly double dip on this one :)

Tbh, the gore is amazing, in the uncut version.:violent: But the dubbing is awful. The script is awful.
Romero`s "Dawn" is far superior, but just for the throat ripping and eye gouging, i will buy this, IF its a steel. (Just remember to fast forward whenever no zombs are on screen, cos its boring).:sleep::sleep:

I understand what you are saying, these types of movies are not for everyone...but its so over the top in iots acting and gore that its a classic in that sense...really paved the way for the 1980s gory movie haul and foreign horror

Dont get me wrong, i loved this film on its release, (the uncut european version). I love Zombie movies, i absolutely love horror, but over the years i found the dubbing soooo bad and laughable, (as i do with all the old Italian dubbed horror of the 80`s, and trust me, i`ve seen them all). It is the superior gore effects that really hold them together.
I went to one of the "Shock Around The Clock" fests in London in the 80`s, with expectations of seeing the Uncut ZFE on the big screen. The film reached the infamous eye popping scene....it was cut!!! The whole cinema booed and made themselves heard that they were pi***d off. Loads walked out, but i sat and watched the (cut/censored) version and realised what a boring/badly made movie it really was without all the juicy gore. Think i left before the end for a well earned :movie:
But i will be first in the queue for an uncut steelbook, to replace my Uncut 2 disc 25th Anniversary DVD on the Shreik Show label. :scat:

Zombie works more as a prequel to Dawn of the Dead than it does a sequel. As far as zombie movies go, it's up among the best, but that's not really saying much. The script is bad and as mentioned before the dubbing is horrific.

There's tons of WTF moments. Multiple times characters just stand still in absolute horror as the slow, plodding zombie comes stumbling towards them. Characters turning their backs on recently dead bite victims. Molotov Cocktails being lobbed inside of a barn cause minimal to no actual fire other than the initial explosion. Why do Molotov Cocktails explode? Again, just one of the many WTF moments in Zombie.

It did have a really good score, though, and the American blu-ray transfer looks good.
