Product Description
THEY WILL RISE TO SUCK THE BLOOD OF THE LIVING!

From the sleazy video nasty vaults comes a movie so stained with controversy and moral indignation that the very mention of its name sends shudders down the spines of the weak stomached and censorious Zombie Flesh Eaters. A gut-munching, shark wrestling, eye-gouging orgy of topless skin divers, mud-caked undead terror and Italian splatter from the dark imagination of horror genius Lucio Fulci (The Beyond, City of The Living Dead).

An abandoned boat in New York Harbour unleashes a deadly flesh crazed Zombie cargo... A Young American woman and a journalist investigate a tropical island where a deadly disease is making the dead walk... Soon, thoughts of getting to the bottom of the murderous curse will be forgotten, as Fulci s walking corpses overwhelm the living and reports come in that the Big Apple is swarming with the living dead...

After over thirty years, Zombie Flesh Eaters still has the power to shock and offend the unwilling... Check out this classic sadist video and revel in a wonderfully tasteless movie that once helped usher in a moral panic!

Ive been torn between the steel and the limited slipbox version for a while now...I do like the steelbook art but was drawn to the slipbox version to match up with my other Arrow editions plus the fact its limited to 500 copies ...but the £14 price for the steel at Amazon combined with the fact Arrow take the payment at the time of ordering (I have an expensive month coming up with preorders) rather than on dispatch swayed my choice to the steel from Amazon....

HMV's packaging isn't too bad. They're using those solid cardboard boxes again now. I don't understand all the criticism of their packaging. Twelve months ago their packaging was by far the best and I didn't hear many complaints then. Yet now it's suddenly the worst packaging ever

Always fear the worst in the mail system - if you send a package assume it is going to be thrown against a wall or dropped on the floor or have other large packages thrown on top of it...

I sometimes reuse the hmv boxes myself, but if I do I I wrap the steel in a few layers of tissue or thinner bubble and sometimes put a front/back cardboard layer inside for more protection!

£14 is a good price for this steel!

Contacted arrow films just waiting for a reply as it cost me £17.99 through them. They better price match amazon

You would think such a specialist company would use better packaging to send steelbooks than a plain jiffy bag, but that's what Arrow will do - send your steel in a jiffy... :emb:

From Arrow's Facebook page:

We are very sorry to have to report bad news, but unfortunately at a recent meeting with Variety Communications, the worldwide rights holders to ZOMBI 2 / ZOMBIE FLESH EATERS we were told we must region code the film to European region 2 for DVD, B for Blu-ray. Unfortunately this is a contractual stipulation that we cannot get out of. Apologies for those in other regions who have pre-ordered and will possibly be facing disappointment. We can only say that this might be a good time to get that region free player – our release is scanned from the original negative and will display a greater sharpness and quality, as well as more picture information, than any other release previously available. We are entering final stages of our restoration now and hope to be unveiling more info and pictures soon.

This is the one reason why I backed hd dvd over blu-ray.

I was also a HD-DVD supporter back in the day, i loved the way everything was guaranteed to play! I'm not picking this up myself as I'm not a big fan of the film but I'm sure a lot of people will be dissapointed that this is region B locked.

I am very disappointed that this is region locked, but its not stopping me from getting a copy. I'll either get my hands on a region free players one of these days, or I'll buy a cheap Amaray version of this to swap in...

£14 is already a pretty good price in my opinion. I don't think this will sell out very quickly. I think the print run should be pretty small (maybe 4k) but I don't think it's a hugely popular title and with all of the other releases at the moment, this is probably low down on the list for most collectors.

Is this likely to sell fast, or should I wait until it's reduced?

I would agree with Snooloui, I don't think this will sell very quickly. It's a niche title and should be available for a while. Having said that Arrow's titles don't seem to get reduced in price too much so there might not be a reduction on this one.
