Great post jimmy. There have been lots of people jumping on the bandwagon over borders recently for whatever reason, but I think piddly and finnicky sums it up pretty well.

I posted a while back about this to warn peeps but this thread moves so fast! I was charged on Friday,.. however I had the funds put on the card and did "retry card" last week so there was no reason for them to wait until the 3rd for me if I already said it was in there last week. It's probably a July 3rd date for retrying if you haven't already pushed it through.

My card was charged again today and I just checked and I got the despatched email. Can't wait to receive it!

Ahhhh Shhhhhhhhiiiieeeeeeetttt. That sux Barry! It was in like slow-mo for me! "Nooooo":( I always appreciate your vids.

Not sure how zavvi's "re-processing" works, mine took 2 days to re-process this time (not including weekend! 4 days alltogether if so, while another time prior it only took 1 day. Theres no consistancy. Just becuase you hit Retry doesn't mean it will even try the same day it seems. Don't you wish everyone could be like Amazon in that aspect? Lol

It's funny that you talk about pigeon-holing when it was yourself who said that those who referred to members as Zavvi haters were entirely graceless. The reason I used the choice of words I did was because no one had referred to the member you quoted as a Zavvi hater and certainly not for having a single opinion on one particular release. I also don't see how that is name calling, simply an observation that some members have taken a particular dislike to Zavvi for no apparent reason.

It's quite clear that it is Zavvi who divide opinion on this forum.

What I said was that people using such terms made their arguments come across as graceless. It's a far cry from using what amounts to little more than a pejorative label. Yes, I quoted a member who brought up a comment about 'Zavvi haters,' which is a term I've seen used increasingly of late, sometimes with little accuracy or even when someone has a genuine concern. Perhaps name calling is not the best descriptor for it, but it's becoming a label here, and that is just not healthy for any of us. What I made really was a general comment, and it underlined my feelings on the issue. I'm sorry if you felt it was an attack on you; it wasn't, can we please let it rest?

I have great respect for you as a member and a poster here, but I honestly think this dialogue is devolving into pedantry. Perhaps at this point it would be best if we just agree to disagree, or if you feel the need to continue the discussion, send me a PM.

recieved my copy which i had ear marked for trade this morning with a great big dent on the back which buckled the spine as well , contacted them on facebook only to be told that i could return it for a full refund and not a replacement as it was out of stock, surely they must have held some back for replacement????

Like everyone else, I must say I am shocked at how much the stock pictures do not do this SteelBook the justice it deserves! Worst case scenario, I was expecting this to be a flat SteelBook with dull matt artwork, but I am impressed that it's embossed and has a magnificent shiny indigo background!

Comparing this release to the stock picture at the top of this thread, they look like two completely different entities, and you wouldn't think they were the same product!

Disney are really maintaining the standard at the moment, what with Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Finding Nemo both being two of the best SteelBooks released this year, and now this! They have really raised the bar in terms of quality, and I look forward to seeing what The Little Mermaid and The Jungle Book turn out like, as well as Dick Tracy, Tron, and The Rocketeer later this year!

Not really a problem but i noticed a colour difference comparing two different Steelbooks next to each other.

The one on the left is much more rich in colour compared to the one on the right where the colours seem a bit faded.

More noticeable in hand than in the pics.

I am not happy at all!!! I have just received one of my copies (I ordered two) and it turned up with a thumb sized dent on the opening edge, a paint chip on the top front edge along with some sort of dark grey sticky substance which I presume is some sort of glue. I have sent them a note through their online message centre so I will se what they say.....I have a sneaky feeling they may just offer me a refund (as they did with noeldoran above). If they do I won't be happy at all, I have waited an age for this steel and was so excited to receive it and after all the hassle of taking the money early I would have thought they would have at least a few copies set aside for problems like this. I suspect though that they sold all their spares on the Ebay outlet for £24 a piece and thought 'bollocks to any returns' lets make a few extra quid now!! Grrrrrr!!!:angry::angry:

I agree that it doesn't make for a nice atmosphere but equally nor does bashing Zavvi in every thread. I have no issue with people making their feelings heard but when every Zavvi related thread is filled with the same comments about how Zavvi are doing this or doing that, it is rather tiresome. I think I will avoid Zavvi related threads from now on as it seems a lot of members here hold an opinion which I don't share.

Don't think they have held any back, instead selling them via ebay. I really feel for those who ordered this originally and receive damaged orders.

I received 1 of mine this morning (ordered 2 to make sure 1 arrived mint), thankfully it's not damaged.

Once again Disney have provided the goods when it comes to SUPERB steelbooks. High gloss finish, hi-res artwork and print quality and great embossing. Some other studios should really take note - This is how a steelbook is done correctly.
