Maybe they wont mess up the back this time![]()

They will not be much more special than amaray cases soon...
Yep, it really is getting that way. And while it's great to have some of these movies as steelbooks, it's become pretty obvious that studios have realised that the steelbook format is a cash cow and one that they're going to milk as much as they can. I don't know about you guys but all these re-releases are killing my interest big time.
I've been saying all long not to by into the hype that is generated for some of these big releases. Go by what you see, not what you are told. If you're collecting for value, then ebay is an excellent indicator was what is valuable, and what isn't. Myself, I was extremely weary of Play.com's production numbers. IMO, something limited to 4000 copies should never flood ebay, as this tile and a few others have. But in the big picture, this is good news. It means that more people are getting into this hobbie, thus the real rare ones will command a higher price. I don't know why the European titles (especially German) get re released so many times. If you want assurances of your steel being a real exclusive, then I highly recommend Future Shop. I don't ever recall them re releasing any of their exclusives. They have an excellent track record. For the record, I did purchase 3 of these, but it is because I like them. In the next few days, I will post my collection on the picture thread. It should show you that if you're diligent, and pay attention at whats happening out there. You can really build a fantastic collection, without it being re released by somebody else.
I used to have a lot respect for play.com. I dont think im buying more of their "exclusives" because they are obviously lying to us.
Makes me mad, but what can we do..... They only care about the money.
Next time please dont lie to us.
And if theres not going to be anything special about owning a steelbook, at least set them as the same price of the amarays.
Play didnt lie to you, nor any of us. Its an exclusive in the UK. They fought for good art and thought it was world-wide exclusive. They feel cheated as well! I've spoken to them and they are saddened by it as well. Your comment is a perfect example why, as people are looking at them when this wasn't their fault. They're not happy either, and that's a good thing as they are working with us more in trying to combat this.
well said funky!

I'm here to tell you, Play has been nothing short of phenomenal! They will continue to work hard on providing HDN members a reason to "collect" steelbooks, not just "buy" steelbooks.

1) When I state something is limited to 4k, then I've been told by the horse's mouth. Ebay is no place to speculate qty.
2) FutureShop's are not safe. Book of Eli was a futureshop exclusive and it ended up at Best Buy ...

A little off topic, but since we're talking about play.com...Might I suggest they start shipping to the U.S so us collectors in the states can get them more easily?![]()
