There are different types of finish though. There isn't simply matte and gloss. Just because this doesn't have the same finish as Kick-Ass 2, it doesn't mean that it isn't gloss.

No matter how you try and justify it its still not a glossy steelbook.

To many times, they come out with steelbooks that do not hold all of the disc from original movie. When it comes to series movies like Alien, they come out with steelbooks that don't hold the entire collection. My opinion, when they are done with a series, like Alien, they should bring out a steelbook that holds the entire set. The first Batman series with michael Keaton, etc. would be great to have in just one steelbook case. I'm sure everyone can think of a series to be done the same way.

You could always buy the Anthology Play.com steel which would fit your criteria.

Fair point, but they should have been more specific then. To me it's just a slightly smoother matte finish... there's nothing "gloss" about it.

Will be interesting to hear what they say, if anything. It kind of reminds me of the whole ES/Jack Reacher situation not so long back where everyone got free re-prints because of a faint line on the original copies that you could barely even see. I can't imagine Zavvi doing the same though unfortunately...

Totally agreed, that's why I said right after I realized about this that Zavvi Gloss ≠ HDN Gloss, we could argue for whole day(s) about this...

I love Aliens and the Alien Franchise but IMO its not scary at all, just good sci-fi. But thats just me. I think Alien is regarded as one of the best horrors of alltime because it the was the first of its kind when it was released in 1979 but its more suspenseful than scary.

Had this in my hands earlier at a friends house, and sorry but this is definitely NOT gloss in anyway shape or form, it's a reasonable quality matte finish at best. I might pick it up if the price drastically drops, if not I'm happy with the box set I have.

So is this Zavvi's new ploy now! "Tell em it's gloss lads and they will snap them up, then we will knock the price down a week after release when everyone knows we lied"

The iniside artwork is absolutely shocking as it low rez,. faded and dull.

The finish is certainly not gloss. It is close to zero finish. I have now custom glossed this. Will post some pics later.

Ive already been told it was on the studios end. ie. not zavvi. obviously doesn't bode well with anyone but looks like that is how the cookie crumbles.
