In case case, I have been told they want to see how this one does before considering others.

Personally, I am stoked to add the new UK Zavvi Steel to these! :scat:

Figures & Alien Egg Ed

PS3 Steelbook & Facehugger

UK DVD Steelbooks

German Blu-Ray Steelbooks, UK/French Blu-Ray Steelbooks, and Russian DVD Steelbooks

Are the alien steelbook's (pictured second from the bottom) the Russian steelbook's that you've stated above the pics? I really like them (first time I've seen them) really like the colours, they look really good as a set. Thats about the size of the aliens I would have liked to have seen on this zavvi release.. nice colours and filling the space rather than the tiny alien on zavvi SB.. just my personal preference. Thanks for the pics DB:thumbs:

Wow, those Russian steels look super lazy!

:hilarious: I've just said how much I like them.. :hilarious:
they look good when grouped together like that. I would want different alien art on the zavvi SB's tho, but still big and colourful.. :D

Chunk, yeah, in my pic, the 2nd to last one is the Russian set, a member here helped me to obtain. It's sad they're all the same, but the writing is pretty awesome, so I enjoy them a lot.

I know it's always tough to get a studio to get on board with artwork-but as a HUGE Alien and Aliens fan, I am happy to see something different from this UK Steel. I wish it was released tomorrow...I was so excited when I saw it was coming :naughty: I was the nut asking Futureshop years ago to please hunt down Fox to release the Steels, LOL. My post is still around somewhere...

The Alien movies are and have been in my top favorite films since childhood and I have bought them no end of times.. and I bet I always will, so like everyone else I'm all for them releasing the set. Got my order in but I keep thinking I may cancel nearer the time due to zavvi's price drops, then I think if I don't show good faith in buying them on release day then zavvi may well ditch the rest.. think I've just answered my own indecisivenes lol.. I'll buy it release day plus its a good price and I'd love to see what the rest will look like.
Thanks for sharing your pics, I love seeing other peoples collections:scat:

Sounds like those Russian dvd steels are very hard to come by (which makes them that much more special)

This. If you really love a film or a particular Steelbook, then pay the pre-order price. I find it annoying when members say 'this looks great but I will wait for a price drop'. If you want Zavvi to do your favourites and not endless rehashes of bankable titles, then pre-order.

I'm convinced this way of thinking is what has killed the US store exclusive market. That and the economy tanking.

I agree with you completely, I've not once waited for a price drop with zavvi's steelbooks.. most of what they've been selling off cheap lately, I bought via pre order.. slightly disheartened while looking at all the money I could have saved with their recent immediate price drops while their SB's were still in the post to me , it did make me wonder at the time what worth it had to pre order anymore...however, I have just thought, that if I could go back in time, cancel my pre orders in the hope of a price reduction, would i?... I wouldn't, because I wanted transformers, zatoichi, 13 assassins, the conjuring and others on day one and I'm very happy with them. When its steels I'm excited about and don't want to miss out on. . I will pre order as I've always done. I've been a very loyal customer to zavvi and as long as they're bringing out movies I love, I'll buy them. Plus, for me Its all part of the excitement..to pre order, then everyone here on release day talking about them, and waiting at the door for the postie like its christmas:D

I really do agree with you and GT on this, I won't be changing the way I buy from zavvi in the future. Thanks guys, its good to continue to think buying from zavvi in those terms:thumbs:

If it's a title I really want I do pre-order, if it's more of a maybe, I tend to wait a bit. There will always be some who pre-order but with Zavvi's current pricing strategy more and more are going to wait. They are getting peed off paying £15 for an older title only to see it at £12 a few weeks later and then £10 a few weeks further on. I think Zavvi would be better off charging £12 to start with and then not reducing it at all, at least not for considerably longer. Still do the codes and then I think people would be happier not appearing to get ripped off after a few weeks.
As for this set, I have the 4 German releases so not overly interested at the moment, perhaps if they release the complete set I might consider getting rid of the German one's for a UK set.

Now I understand why they call you the Queen. :notworthy:

Do you have/have you seen the Japanese Ultimate Editions for the Alien franchise? They're old DVD digipacks, but they're still some of my absolute favourite editions - they have a sort of metallic/foil tint/finish to them... they're gorgeous!
