I like this steelbook, nice artwork.

One for me, and one A Gift for my girlfriends dad. It's gunna be his first Steelbook, and he says he's going to keep it sealed! I cannot even afford the luxury of keeping sealed copies. I got delivery Lady and the Tramp and Peter Pan both shipped on 5th day after Aliens/Rocky

I hope I have Delivery Tomorrow
I still don't get Royal Mail delivery time to Rep of Ireland

In Regard to Alien Steelbook I still like it its a quality Matte Finish with what looks like some coating
Gloss Finish its not and yes that's disappointing

If they had of not said it was Gloss Finish
There would have been more praise than complaints

Ive already been told it was on the studios end. ie. not zavvi. obviously doesn't bode well with anyone but looks like that is how the cookie crumbles.

Im sure the zavvi haters will somehow still pin this on them

they prob think no matter what finish they do, ppl will still buy them as they are popular titles, but I think ppl are starting to get sick of it so hopefully the studios pull their finger out, they seem to gloss crap movies though as a way to sell them along otherwise nobody would buy them

I liked it as well. Being gloss or matt doesn't bother me. Also was pleased the film contains both versions as my only copy of the film to date is the Special CAV laserdisc.
Be interesting to compare them.

Well, Zavvi are at least guilty of not checking against their own description before sending out everyone's orders. Ignorance is not a defence.

I just got an email to say they have looked into it and the item doesn't say matte or gloss and so I have to pay for the return. Checked the page and they have removed any mention of gloss... lucky I have my dispatch email stiil (says gloss). Will keep pestering them but they are in danger of losing my custom....

I think i am one of the only few people that perfer Matte finish over Gloss.... In my opinion matte looks fancier than gloss. Just my opinion.

Gloss is king but you can get good matte finishes however there has been far to many poor quality 'streaky' matte finishes of late for my liking, in a lot of cases the quality of matte finishes has dropped drasticly imo. I think that's why a lot of people go on about it so much these days - so when you get that uber gloss quality finish people rave about it even more so.

T2 (KR), Black Hawk Down (UK), Shooter (UK), Bad Boys (UK) are all high quality top drawer Matte finishes with lovely thick coatings. If Aliens had been done like them it would have been the Dogs Bollocks, rather than the Cats C@nt.
