Collectors: Can go crazy with multiples, or tons of steels of the same movie etc. Also will seek out or trade for rare ones they missed out on.

Selectors: Most have or want to own only select steelbooks that they see

So which one are you?

Selector(s): That there is trademarked, not to be used without written permission of Ricky Bobby, Inc. :hilarious:

I ammended the OP bluprint for the collector descrip. I'm under the impression that there are NO collectors left trying to get EVERY steel. I know some guys who had this feat accomplished after about 2.5 years of BD steels but ultimatey they started pumping out so many they had to quit.

Hope you dont mind ...if so I can change it back ... but I think this way it describes the two diffferent types of people better.

selector!.............99% of my steelbooks are UK releases. Not really interested in having more than one copy of the same film that looks the same.

1st post! :scat:

definately now a selector will only buy steels for films im interested in or will watch or love so im afraid E.T. snow white and the huntsman and anything to do with twilight will never grace my shelves lol as much as they look pretty to some i just dont like the movies... only have a couple of double triple dips of my all time favourites e.g. the nolan dark knight trilogy and drive but apart from that its all selectivity for me ......

Selective collector :D

I think that just about hits it on the nail. At one time I wanted to get every single steel there was, recently have just cut right back as I think if you take that approach there's always another country which hasn't released this steel or that steel and it just becomes too boring. Yes I'll still double dip on numerous titles but usually because the artwork is different.

So Hub got it right Selective Collector.

Definatly a Selector!

Will only buy films I am interested in and actually going to watch. Although I have doubled & tripled dipped for certain films I particularly love...

Prometheus being one and the Christpoher Nolan Batman Films being another.

Based on the new definitions added by Wreck I'm a collector. I have no problem double and triple dipping on movies I love but I won't get the same artwork unless there's also some sort of slip involved then I might get it but haven't done that so far.

But I don't buy many steelbooks now. Buying more old CE, LE and digipak's atm.

I would consider myself more like a selector, because I only care for one Steelbook by movie ;) I choose the one with the best artwork in my opinion and that's it ;) it rarely happens that I have two or more Steelbooks for one Movie ;)

I am mostly selector, I buy steebooks of movies I liked and will watch again in the future. But I also sometimes buy a rare steelbook if I haven't seen it before, like Farewell My Concubine. Never seen that movie but it's so rare and nice looking I couldn't pass on it.

And I might blind buy a steelbook if the movie has generally positive reviews. But unfortunately I have also blind bought steelbook without knowing anything about the movie, in example Green Hornet. Beautiful steelbook, horrible movie. :(

I am a selected collector ;)

I only buy steels of those i think are worth buying, but that being said, out of the films i buy, i like to own the best versions of the steel (single or multiples), i.e i love J.J.Abram's Star Trek, and so i have ordered both Zavvi ones, i have the German one, and am currently bargaining with a friend for the Play edition... However i would never buy "Disaster Movie" on SB (god willing this will never happen ;) )

A combo of both-much more selective now than in earlier years. I primarily purchase based on rewatchability of the actual film, but will also occasionally purchase editions if they have very unique art....

I am Definitely a Collector. See my Album Pictures. I also have a lot of other normal Blu-Rays and DVD which I have not posted in my Picture Albums. So far I have a total of 515 Pieces and growing..................! I just love movies!!!!!!!!!!

Selector here (with collector tendencies). I buy steelbooks of movies I own or enjoyed at the cinema. But occasionally buy multiple copies if different artwork interests me, and have a couple of steelbooks of movies I might not have bought if they hasn't had the steelbook treatment.

I used to be a collector but with the amount of steels being released, it was crazy trying to keep up. Now more selective, just trying to get the films I like or limited ones like Jack Reacher and Hansel, only really buy UK ones as well
