I dont know how long I will do this, or if people have questions ... but I'll check this thread daily in case people have questions about steelbooks etc. I'll try to answer to the best of my ability from what I am allowed to say in some cases or just info you may not have seen me drop before in past threads.

I guess thats true but its happening somewhere before it get to retailers. Shrink is usually undamaged but still slashed. I wonder why amarays dont have slashes (maybe they do cuz I dont buy them but never seen one).

Hello Wreck,

Why is the "International Tracked Delivery " that cost 10€/13$, just a normal delivery with no tracking?
In the dispatch email,they give a fake tracking number and a link that doesn't work.

It's just stealing money there.

Maybe the Asian retailers have better quality control and send the slashed spines back to the distributor?

I believe it was mentioned a while ago (by Wreck) that Asian vendors have a different demand in quality control. It's obvious that it is much stricter, a good thing for us collectors.

So yeah, I believe it's Scanavo who is causing this whole spine slash and paint chip epidemic.

Hey, Wreck - now that Walmart USA has announced a steel release for this title, any chance that Canada is going to get one? (Walmart, Target, Futureshop) Or is USA going to be the only North American version?

Wreck, after seeing the pics of the custom Hidef Excl. Seven Psychopaths steel (and being immensely jealous!) I was wondering why you never see the awesome Crackle lacquer used on more steels. Is it just a cost issue for the studios when commissioning a steel?

I seem to have read a post where KimchiDVD is going check for spine cuts on T2 before sealing...That's excellent quality assurance

The spine slash epidemic is in full swing again. Are you able to put a word into the right ears? It seem like its an issue with manufacturing and not retailers opening boxes.

I put word in with the retailers.

I've been able to pin point now a lot.

If your spine is slashed UNDER your shrinkwrap then its happening at replicator level ... the place the steels go after scanavo is done with them.

If your shrink is slashed too then its happening by retailer employees cutting open boxes.

Cant say much on stuff for NA.

But, I can say there is a lot of stuff coming to NA this year. Unfortunately NA are almost always last to announce. But good times ahead.

How did Zavvi rip anybody off? They're a business at the end of the day, and there are 2 ways to look at it: either they're looking after the fan by releasing a much-loved title on steelbook with different art FOR THOSE WHO MISSED OUT, orrr....they're looking after the fan by NOT releasing that title on steelbook to retain the value of the original release for those who didn't miss out. Either way, they're looking after the fan, but this way they make money which is their main concern. Some people treat a release decision as a personal attack, as if Zavvi were out to harm them and steal food from their mouths. They're a business at the end of the day.

I don't care about those who missed out. That's their problem. A lot of people want a lot of things, so everyone should just admit to all their demands? This is a collector's game. If you missed out, you shouldn't expect a company to release a new edition just for you...

Keep placing comments like this, that will give companies a reason to over load the market with new editions every several months. Then steelbooks will become just as usual as the normal amaray's.

I avoid many questions ...

the main reason I avoid questions is I just dont have time to answer them all. (so I cherry pick the easier and or ones that take less time to type at times) save the longer posts for later. People who want answers just keep posting the question and then I get to it. Some questions tho I have to go off and ask questions so some take time. Questions like "Will X be coming to steelbook" I tend to avoid as I announce when I can announce its very rare that I can announce and I just so happened to see the question at the same time and announce that particular title here first.

So believe what you want.

As for your question, I dont know the answer because I myself have not checked any of my tracking when I paid for such ... so I'm not even sure if its coming up with no tracking whatsoever. You sure are very sour about it tho as opposed to finding a solution. There's no tracking for my intl orders with amazon.co.uk either ... so whatev's ...

I know that if you order in smaller orders then you can stay at the 1 pound shipping rate and not the 10 pound as sometiems the cart tries to force you on. i.e. 4 orders of 3 qty as opposed to 12 qty.

Dude have some respect. Wreck is just a normal guy with his own family and problems who dedicates his time to answering questions like this for no benefit to himself. Please be a little less rude next time.

mmz73, you have been helpful to me recently so I'll try and help you out here with your query with some simple advice. Whether you choose to listen to me is up to you.

To me it would seem that you are more stating a fact rather than asking a question, so no need to keep banging on expecting Wreck to answer straight away.

Yes, it would appear that the postage option you chose was a bit pointless so I would suggest you don't opt for it going forward. If Zavvi gives you no other postage option when you place your orders then you can decide whether or not to order from them again. Any frustration thereafter should be directed towards Zavvi, not at Wreck or anyone else here, and hopefully you will get a response from Zavvi and maybe even a refund. Who knows

To continually compare Zavvi to Amazon is pointless. They are two very different businesses, mainly in size, and it's like comparing a souped up road car to a top fuel drag car in a race. One perhaps has a bored out engine and some aftermarket parts which help it 'punch above it's weight' every once in a while, operated by a driver and a mechanic. The other has a much bigger engine, state of the art parts and a huge support team. At the end of the day both have the same goal of getting over the line but go about it in very different ways with very different budgets. Anyway, I digress...

Wreck set up this thread to serve us, the community, in his spare time and he does this very well. Please don't assume that because he offers you his services that he is your servant. And please show a little more gratitude when others offer to help too

My uk nemo was slashed and so was the shrinkwrap on both copies I ordered. So zavvi did it.
