I dont know how long I will do this, or if people have questions ... but I'll check this thread daily in case people have questions about steelbooks etc. I'll try to answer to the best of my ability from what I am allowed to say in some cases or just info you may not have seen me drop before in past threads.

Just a quick one wreck - is it safe to say that amazon.fr got the remaining 2k of inside llewyn davis? Assuming of course it's a total 4k print run...

I was told France was most likely getting the other half. so yes.

Been reading up on Steelbooks and how they're made etc out of sheer curiosity really, some stuff I can't seem to find out tho so hope it's alright to ask here (dunno where else to ask). When companies like blufans and kimchi make a custom artwork (and gottin it approved) where do they get the discs from? The studio? Do the discs get sent to Scanavo or is it upto blufans or kimchi themselves to put the discs inside the Steelbooks and then deal them?

there is a middle man that studios use in which the steels arrive from scanavo and the discs and other jazz are put in and then sealed. As far as the little guys (smaller retailers) I dont really know ... I see which licensors they are using so not sure how they arrive to them and how much manual work they are putting in.

its actually not unlikely that they may be getting sealed editions and opening and making it their "own". Just depends. However they should be getting license to put every part of it together or approval from the lincensor who would then be getting approval back with studio. If not happening, then illegal.

Some people have wondered WHY there are spine slashes at times.

Underneath shrink wrap means the middle man that studios use before they go to retailer caused this ...

Through the shrink wrap means retailer caused it.

And now ...

Here's why ...

This is a box that one major player uses ... (name left out on purpose)

You will notice the red marks I made ... that is where cardboard flap ends. So in one case of steels only 10 are protected. That is why a Roger Rabbit with no spine slash is very hard to come by. This is also why some are "faint" slashes as when the person opening the case lets up on his slash there is less pressure.

Even though zavvi have slowed down about and the uk market as a whole, will we still see a massive wave of steelbooks over the year like the past two? 150 plus?

There are almost 100 titles released or announced in the UK so far this year already EEK!

world wide? Of course .... 150 is small #
UK? I'm not a magic genie .... but I would still feel confident on UK hitting 150 for the year. I bet they will blast that number "out of the park" as we Americans like to say.

So that's how it happens. This made me check my copy which is fine, had no idea roger rabbit was affected.

Wreck,

Let's say I don't have any funds when Zavvi try to charge me, how long time do I have to resolve the issue before I "loose" the order and it goes up for sale again?

Do you know or can find out?

Thanks:)

one sheet, computerized does all the forming.

there are diff steelbook factories and thus diff paints in diff countries due to paint laws so there can be some slight differences

Hey Wreck, do you know what's going on with the Zavvi Pixar releases? It's been a while since one has been announced whereas Disney releases are still being announced or receiving placeholders.

Have they given up with them? Put them on hold for now? Or are some announcements imminent?

Any info is appreciated.

Can anyone confirm what release of Iron Man 2 this is please? Also what the current value might be? It is in very good condition with a couple of VERY light surface marks, no dents or dings.

On the top right hand side of the back itsays "Made in Denmark"
