Comparing the prices from different countries, the price of this is high. Surely there must be some added extras with this? Or is it at that price point, as it is really exclusive and limited to 1000 full stop.

The U.K. trilogy is certainly expensive compared to other territories but let's not forget the BONUS DISC that I believe is exclusive to the U.K. plus the information that it's LIMITED TO 1,000 plus the fact that the front artwork, though a bit crappy, is still WWE ARTWORK, as far as I can gather.

Of course you don't have to buy this trilogy steelbook to get the bonus disc as it's available in the regular 30th Anniversary Trilogy @ GBP 15 from Amazon for example (half the Zavvi asking price).

Other 'BttF' trilogy steelbooks are available from other territories but without the bonus disc, I believe:-

U.S. - Target Exclusive - equivalent to GBP 20 + p&p (new pre-order for October 2015 release, like the Zavvi)

GERMANY - equivalent to GBP19 + p&p (2012 release available from third party sellers and not from Amazon)
SPAIN - equivalent to GB 35.50 + p&p (2012 release available from third party sellers and not from Amazon)

Main problem for me with the Europeans would be the foreign print splashed across the front and that alone would take them out of the running for me.
The U.S. trilogy would be the one I'd go for if I had a gun at my head.

It will be interesting to know before October if the U.S. and U.K. discs have been re-mastered in any way or had any work done on them.

If I bought steelbooks from abroad I'd be crying out for a Mondo trilogy to give me some decent artwork.

BONUS DISC that comes with all the Trilogy releases box sets and trilogy steelbooks its not exclusive to the UK
If the listing has 4 Discs that will means it includes the bonus disc

Thank you @paulboland for making me double-check the U.S. Target Exclusive trilogy steelbook as that does indeed have 4 discs and is clearly the one to get price-wise/if you prefer the artwork.

Checked Zavvi when this went live, and I believe it was only available for 1 hour.
I, like many others dismissed this artwork as terrible and went with the individual steelbooks instead. I usually prefer individuals anyway in case a new installment is released, although there is no danger of Back to the Future Part IV ever happening.

Will be interesting to see how sought after this actually becomes.

. . . although I see no reason why the film(s) could not be remade with state-of-the-art special effects for a new audience but I suppose there would be howls of disapproval from the purists ;)

True, although Ive seen enough remakes/reboots that have desecrated my childhood memories recently (RoboCop and TMNT being particularly nasty examples, and waiting with trepidation about this all female Ghostbusters reboot in 2016).
Could do without this one being tarnished too. Some things are sacred, and I cant help but feel a Back to the Future reboot would be destined to fail. Miserably.

And dont be forgetting the apparent Gremlins & Goonies remakes currently being considered. Poor Chris Columbus is attached as executive producer.

...but there are many remakes considered by many to be AS GOOD AS IF NOT BETTER THAN THE ORIGINALS such as the following which we should all be familiar with:-
- DAWN OF THE DEAD 2004 and 1978
- THE THING 1982 and 1951
- 3:10 TO YUMA 2007 and 1957
- HEAVEN CAN WAIT and HERE COMES Mr. JORDAN 1978 and 1941
- INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS 1978 and 1956
- OCEAN'S ELEVEN 2001 and 1960
- KING KONG 2005 and 1933
- THE FLY 1986 and 1958
Anyway, it's not as if a remake is going to make the well-loved original any less loved and in most cases will make us appreciate just how good the original is :)

Bob Gale has said there will be no re makes or any future new films of back to the future while he is still alive and he also said he will instruct those who inherit his estate on his death to also stop any re makes or future films he owns the rights to any future films been made

The rule for remakes should be this only: remake films that had potential but didn't successfully get there.
King Kong is a masterpiece- PJ's is a turd.
Remake something that was not already well regarded.
Goonies is a perfect example- although nostalgically loved, it is not a good movie. Perfect. Have at it.

If KING KONG (2005) is a "turd" then it is a gold plated one !!!
- 3 Academy Awards
- Countless other awards including a BAFTA (and the Scream Awards 'Best Remake') and the London Film Critics' Award etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
- $550.50M box office worldwide - 4th highest grossing film in Universal Pictures' history.
- When this became available in the U.K. in a steelbook it quickly sold out at pre-order and to my knowledge has never come back in stock.
'nuff said!

I'm 100% against a Back to the Future remake / reboot movie but I'd be all in for a TV series retelling featuring the zany time traveling adventures of Doc. Brown Jr and his Pops.
