Ordered yesterday with the 15% discount, I really am a bit worried about some statements here: Do they really cancel pre-orders because of their own "mistakes"? (I thought it was a "feature" when ordering)
Man, this is the movie I wanted the most, it's already sold out and now I have to read about a possible cancellation. Not happy at all.

I missed out on Maleficent so i'll be hoping for it to pop back up again in the not-too-distant future.
I keep looking at the pictures of this steelbook and i'm just dying to get it in my hands haha. Such a classic movie that I grew up with & will always love. I personally think the artwork is spot on. I like the fact that the rose is featured on the back, nice and simply, because its such an important part of the film

Estimate of times are these
Went live on 21/09/2014 at 17.27 (5.27pm)
Sold out on 21/09/2014 at 23.26 (11.26pm) (was possible was before this time)
If above time scale is correct
It took approximately 6 hours to be sold out

I was expecting this to be Sold out fast but 6 hours was faster than I expected
Just shows how wanted this release was

It should come back though if there was any large bulk orders placed
They will cancel large bulk orders that are not authorized
This should happen in next few weeks

Near release date you should see customer orders cancelled and payment problems cancelled orders become put back on zavvi for sale just before or after release date

I ordered it then re ordered for the offer with tarzan and cancelled the original order yesterday, others may have done the same so I'm sure this will be back once zavvi go through the cancellations

The thing is none of the Disney classics have dropped in price. If Fantasia didn't stick around long enough for a price drop, this certainly won't. Therefore whether or not it is really sold out isn't really an issue for me personally. It's just a case of getting a good price and with the combination of the 15% glitch and the discount code, that has been achieved.

Does the trick of cancelling the order right after the purchase to receive only in stock items with all the discounts still work?

It sure did! Cancelled my order as I messed up big style regarding another promo code; Got an email back saying I couldn't cancel the 8 other Disney steels (all of which had the 15% discount applied) but BatB was cancelled from the order.
Had dispatched emails for the 8 steels this morning, all with discounts applied, and managed to order BatB separately on its own before it sold out. Win win!!

Got myself into a HUGE mess on this; Initially ordered BaTB along with 8 other Disney/Pixar steels and X-Men 2 for £150(ish) in total (15% off and £6 code applied)

Afterwards, I came onto this forum and saw someone had posted a £10.00 off with orders over £100 code; So I went back to Zavvi, re-ordered the whole lot and got the same steels for £144 or so.

I then cancelled my initial order of £150 seeing as I managed to save a few £'s with a better promo code; Unfortunately, I have now received a 'Failed Cancellation' email- This relates to the 8 Disney steelbooks I purchased and NOT BaTB, so BaTB/X2 were cancelled but NOT the bulk of the order.

The other Disney steels still had their 15% discount codes applied, but panicking I then cancelled my second (£144) order as I do not want to be charged twice. Fortunately, this second order has been cancelled, but still have the 8 Disney steels from my first order unable to cancel.

I have contacted Zavvi, as although I want these steelbooks I also don't want to be messed about and told that they will charge me full amounts as the item that triggered the 15% off discount has been taken off the order, and told them to cancel the order.

This has left me in a bit of a dilemma as I want BaTB, I want X2 and I want the 8 other Disney steelbooks but do not want to order them again in the off chance that Zavvi does charge my card and send these other Disney steelbooks out- I pre ordered BaTB again (on its own) as I don't want to miss out on this, but i'm left in the dark regarding if they'll send the others out as i've tried to cancel them and have also sent Zavvi an email.

Ideally, I want to get the order wholly cancelled, and then order the 10 items again with the '£10 off orders over £100 code' but can't do this until I have any correspondence back from Zavvi.

Anyone had any similar experiences??

I can relate indeed. You attempted to cancel the item before dispatch, so you might be eligible for a free (Collect Plus) return label. You'll have to return the first lot. Contact them via Twitter (@ZavviHelp) with your order number. You avoid copy and paste responses that way. Good luck.
