It's ******* annoying that this release happens really late at night when many people are still asleep. Missed it twice.

Remember Zavvi are a UK company and most likely have their preorders go live within UK daytime.
Their tactics are strange to say the least.

There are a shortage if Beauty and The Beast blu ray,s around the world as they put it back in the vault too quickly and hence the prices on ebay for the 2d and 3d versions have been always high.

It is no surprise that such a popular film would sell out so quick.

UK Disney
Beauty and The Beast is been re-released on Amaray Blu ray and Amaray 3D Blu ray and also DVD on 10th November 2014
Steelbook release date has 31 December 2014 but that's a place holder date

The Vault is no longer applied to Disney UK they are now re releasing all previous vaulted titles some will not have the extras discs
Look on Amazon.UK lot of Disney re releases listed

Ordered this. One for me and one for my wife. This is her favourite Disney film. She disapproves of all the steelbook i buy but i think she will love this.....hopefully

I'm still convinced that Zavvi are holding out on us. I don't believe for a second that these have sold out in such a short time! Nobody I have spoken to seems to have been able to get an order in. 4,000 copies yet hardly anyone managed to get their order in doesn't quite add up! Obviously the scalpers have been on the ball here, but even so, other Disney titles have sold out in the past and have reappeared only to remain in stock for months!

Clearly someone at Zavvi is tugging us off hard! If my Spidey-sense could detect bullshit, it would be going mental right about now!

As the Irish saying goes, top of the morning to you heche. I've noticed several of your recent postings on here have been Zavvi related. I sense later on today someone will come along, tell you how wrong you are and get several thanks on their comment. :D

Part of me wants to argue why you could be wrong, but despite my bitter sweet relationship with Zavvi, I have to agree with you for the most part. I don't believe it's sold out at all. It is refreshing to see posts like yours, as most people who question Zavvi methods gets grilled for it. I guess we play the waiting game with this one, eh?

If anyone has proof that these have all sold on legitimate pre-orders (Ie, not someone placing an order of 1,000 just to give a false impression of it selling out), then please by all means show me proof! If a Zavvi representative or somebody actually in-the-know can actually come on here and confirm that this SteelBook is actually one of the most popular Disney SteelBooks to date after Lion King and Aladdin, then please put me in my place!

I don't doubt that this is an eagerly awaited title, but I fail to believe that it has legitimately sold 4,000 copies on pre-orders. The fact that it reappeared on Monday is testament to the fact that the first time was BS, and I still believe that there are more pre-order spaces to fill before this gets released!

I'll admit I'm no Zavvi fanboy like most people on here seem to be, and I'm not scared to call them out for the questionable retailer they seem to be! An ethical retailer wouldn't continue to lead us on week after week, nor would they make such a drama out of the pre-order process!

after release, zavvi will wait for the price to sky rocket on ebay, then offer its own batch of stock (which it is holding back) through its ebay outlet. at an inflated price of course.

they wont, you say? these are just theories, you say? no! they did the same with roger rabbit, wicker man, pans labyrinth, drip fed frozen and most recently have plucked new stock of nightmare before xmas out of thin air. and countless other steels

They are currently selling Fantasia on eBay which still shows as sold out on their site, and were previously selling Lady And The Tramp on there as well. If you call them out about it, their reply is simply "we hold different stock allocations for both our main site and eBay outlet", despite the fact that both share the same distribution centre and HQ... Basically, Zavvi Outlet are business buying in bulk from Zavvi. It really wouldn't surprise me if Zavvi Outlet have an order in for at least 25% of the Beauty And The Beast pre-order stock, to be drip-fed on eBay after release just like Frozen and Roger Rabbit were... Also don't forget that Zavvi keep hold of a small reserve supply to use as replacements for damaged orders and returns. This reserve supply (100-200 units I would guess) will probably find its way to eBay via Zavvi Outlet as well.

I don't know why the pro-Zavvi brigade here can't see Zavvi's tricks with their own eyes!?

On this post it says; Release date: TBA, 2014... but on the Zavvi website it says it's released on the 31 December 2014. Should I presume it's going to be changed and this isn't final or is the info above wrong? Thanks! :)

Im pretty sure that zavvi put that date when they dont know the exact date of release.

My situation sucks. I ordered this and still have it on order but the credit card i used was compromised, so Bank Of America sent a new card. I added the card to my account but I cannot edit the order. So I am assuming that they will just cancel. Am I correct? So annoyed.
