You can be sure there will be a UK Steelbook this year and most likely 3D/2D Release
Its not released yet in the UK Cinemas until 30 January 2015

So you can expect soon after this announcements for DVD and Blu ray/3D Blu ray Media release info for the UK

I take a guess it will be May to July timeframe for the UK

Very good points... but since this steel will come out in Feb it will be a version folks that want it early can buy right away.

The other fear I have is Disney is NOT releasing a 3D version in the states (similar to Frozen)

Same thing with Ninja Turtles when a Steelbook was announced before the UK even had a theatrical release. Not a problem, just hope it's region free (as per usual with Disney) then I'll jump on a GB.

That's what i was afraid of... wonder why? I would understand if they didn't release a 3D version anywhere but they do for international markets.

Really sucks because I enjoy watching 3D at home, especially animation.

As this has yet to hit the UK I am not yet excited about this release as some other members here. But I am expecting good things from this film as its from the Wreck It Ralph team.
As Zavvi have a long line of Disney steels I'll probably wait for there reveal before deciding which steel ai want to own.

Of late, Disney N.A. steels have had matte finishes. I hope this bucks the trend to see a return of quality gloss steelbooks. One can only hope
