Hey BEC Dealhunters!

Black Friday (for those outside of US, this is a HUGE shopping holiday, the day after the US Thanksgiving holiday), is less than 50 days away, and ads will start to appear.

Since it's a bit cumbersome to have Hot Deals for Hardware, Blu-Ray etc in different areas, I think it's ok to post any type of entertainment deal in here.

Feel free to track and contribute to this thread. I plan to keep it updated throughout the Black Friday shopping frenzy with on/offline deals and more.

With all of our eyeballs on the net around the holidays, and your willingness to chime in, it would become a hoppin' thread:) All suggestions & deals welcomed!

Have fun,
:oohyeah:

I know of some good resource sites Are we allowed to post them ? Its not really another forum but figured I would ask since I don't want to violate any rules.

Kings, you can post the name but not links. It's easy to Google BF sites, but we'd like to build a BF discussion community on this site, while still being sure we are crediting a legitimate source-make sense? It's cool to post xxxx deal as seen on SD, etc....Thanks for checking!:)DB

Hey Jackie-like last year, I am sure there will be no shortage of retailers outdoing each other, by holding sales earlier and bigger. Good huntin':)

I think is crazy that people go and camp from like 5pm in the afternoon for a stuff. Sometimes is for stuff that it isn't that great and has been sitting in a warehouse and it needs to be sold.

This year I will be staying home again, I am just want to avoid the masses.

FYI-for anyone with kids, Kmart's Toy Ad is now out at popular Black Friday sites. It is Kmart's counterad to Toys R Us' "Big Toy" book. Enjoy! DB

Walmart to post BF ads 11/21

The anticipation for Black Friday is already starting to build as Black Friday ad leaks slowly trickle over the next few weeks.

Historically, Walmart has held their Black Friday cards close to their chest through cease and desist notifications, and it appears that this year is no different. Expect to see the Walmart Black Friday ads on Sunday, November 21st this year. Walmart has notified us that this is the first date that we can post images and information about Walmart's ads, without having to lawyer up.

In previous years, many retailers have simply volunteered their Black Friday Ad info to help build the hype up. Most retailers don't sweat the inevitable leaks that are routinely posted. The drawback to this is the obvious competitive disadvantage should the competition offer the same, or sweeter deals. Apparently, this is what concerns Walmart...

Hey guys-so whether online or offline-what were some of the hottest deals you found during any year, on BF?

Hey guys-so whether online or offline-what were some of the hottest deals you found during any year, on BF?

two years ago i got a garmin gps for my wife for $99 normally priced $150. not a very good deal now but back then it was pretty good.

i also go $180 wireless headphones for $60 last year, and $80 wireless keyboard and mouse for $40 two years ago.

i might pick up an ipad for my wife this year, so hopefully best buy or walmart or amazon will have some sort of package deal with an itunes GC or with a case or something. unlikely they will actually mark down the price on it.

Yes, those Ipads are sexy-not sure if Apple allows any discounts during BF, but I hope you catch some break!:)

A few years ago we also got good deals on GPS's and one year I purchased our 1st 50 inch flatscreen for $800 off at my local electronics store, which has emerged as my fave (6th ave, also the store where we've purchased our LCD Proj and 103" in screen, receiver, etc etc, so they know us too well:)). The TV I wanted (highest rated Panasonic Plasma was $800 off, and never went back down to the BF price), even 2 years later, not even online. Plus since we had a personal rep at 6ave, he let us pick up the TV a few days later, eventhough it was technically sold out:)

Still love that TV, but the 65" 3D Plasma by Panasonic is looking like a naked Rhona Mitra. I'll need to stay F-A-R away...

As usual I'll be stalking the online deals and taking a leisurely stroll into the physical stores in the morning with my partner, who likes to share in my madness. Not so much for the shopping (I have more BD/HD DVD players/movies and gizmos than I "need", but I find the retail mayhem on that day fascinating). We grab our coffee and laugh..and try to talk people OUT of unnecessarily overpriced accessories, which, as we know, some retail stores love to leave by the register;)

So evil, but it sounds like a lot of fun!

Hi All, 30 days to go!

Just wanted to mention that if anyone subscribed to this thread and is reading from another country, and needs any help getting a BF deal from the USA, but the store doesn't ship to their location, I am volunteering as an official BEC Black Friday Deal Hunter:)

If the deal is online I'll be happy to help you at cost. Just PM me. And if anyone else wants to help out other members in the same situation just PM me. If the list gets a bit longer, I'll post the usernames in the OP, so you can correspond with each other.

Thanks,
DB
