Important Group Buy update
Official update for all group buy participants -

The licensing agreement for Black Panther, for unknown reasons, still has not been resolved and because of this Infinity War will now be being released first (roughly early December time). The licensing agreement for Black Panther is looking to be completed around November time but because of the other releases (infinity War, Greatest Showman, Three Billboards), Black Panther will not ship until January 2019 at the earliest.

Infinity War will ship with the same editions (1/4 slip + Box, One Click, DL, SL and full slip)

Group Buy members, we have a couple of options for you -

1. Transfer
Your Black Panther request will automatically be transferred to the same edition to that of Avengers: Infinity War. You will then be guaranteed a spot for Black Panther, which will be charged for again later on in the year (or potentially January 2019)

2. Refund
You can cancel your Black Panther request and be refunded. Please note that should you change your mind afterwards we cannot allow you to repurchase Black Panther. At this time there will not be a further GB for it (however this may change although not guaranteed)

3. Wait it out
Wait for Black Panther to be released. If you decide to wait it out, as a thank you we will enter you into a HDN sponsored prize draw.

The official GB for Avengers: Infinity War won't be live until November.

I will be sending this as a PM to all participants tomorrow too with the relevant instructions.

Is it possible to enter both GB's (one click and double lenti)? or is only one entry allowed?
you can sign up for both .... if you win both but dont want to pay for both, that is fine. we will have no problem moving the other copy. We however will not wait for infinite time for people to decide such. If someone pays for 1 and not the other ... after like 2 days, your other copy is gone. Informing us prior to would be more polite tho.

If our qty is very limited , depending on how much hassle it is ... likely what would happen is we will take away the DL from the 1click winner and those that did not win either we will run another with the losers of the DL so the maximum amount of people at the very least got a copy of this edition in some fashion.

This method has its advantages and disadvantages.

The plus side is:
- you don't have watch the thread that much anymore for announcements.
- you don't have to f5 for several hours anymore.
- you just write a post and you're eligible (if done a GB already of course). It saves a lot of time spending on HDN. just grab and go.

Downside:
- the longer the sign up thread is open the smaller your chance is to get one.
- dedicated watchers and f5-ers can see their release been given away to someone not so dedicated. so even more frustration.
Just cause you win the reserve doesnt mean a "not so dedicated" might not miss the tag/alert etc to make the purchase ... we aren't phoning people, buy within your window or lose that spot still which i would assume "not so dedicated" people might fall victim to.

Do I miss something?

Every blufans GB brings in new buyers and some who buy elsewhere who create new registrations to try to double up. Since we are verifying all past purchases for eligibility you at least have a number of people who wont even have the chance ... so that helps odds to some degree.

and for those who make brief mention of the raffle and fairness .... it will be an announced time, so it doesnt get any fairer than that. Be sure to tune in .... Cpu generation will also be involved.

HDN is pushing the envelope trying to be innovative and fair with integrity for the Community as we always aspire to be. We will see how folks like this new method but its not to replace other methods or current system in place, however I feel it can help when things are very limited as we continue our forward thinking for this Community and as leaders in the hobby itself.

Other editions like 1/4 or FS if they come to be will likely just be handled old way unless qty restrictions call for something else. The main 2 that folks clamor for are boxsets and DL so just figured more important to try and make a very fair way for that. I didnt want to wait till last minute to start our process and there was no rush in regards to those 2 threads so didn't matter for us to announce them etc.

I think that there are some more to the downside.

We don't know how the raffle will be done, I can imagine that friends of the one hosting the GB could get an advantage. Should be bad if they miss out, all power lies now with the one that does the raffle, of course I have faith it will be fair but it is not possible to know for sure, that's my point.

Then there are the ones with multiple accounts and addresses that will have a massive advantage since they can easily double, triple there chances.

Anyway, I guess these downsides were always there (maybe not so large) and it might turn out to be succes, as mentioned before it's still fantastic that these GB's are hosted here. Just prefer it as it was.
Nah, don’t worry about the GB hosts.

The multiple accounts I also thought of, but the accounts needs to have participated in a previous GB.
In a GB slot with lots of people F5-ing you almost have no time to switch. It’s sold out in minutes. With a sign up you have more time (when you of course have participated with each account in a GB).

I too prefer the old way.....if you want something bad you need to reserve time and have the dedication to get it
Just like standing in line for hours the get the first iPhone....or get one of the first concert tickets, or get a first Windows 95 copy :D

I know cooey, that's my point, we should all be grateful you/you guys are giving the rest of us a chance at batting for one.

I've heard of other places doing things of such nature.

Its pointless for that to happen here, as what is done in the dark always comes to the light and it wouldnt take too long for my super mega ultimate VIP status :D to be revoked ... we use the super mega ultimate vip status for HDN members and in turn the site keeps its lights on by a number of things and advertising helps keep the site alive the most. Start doing shady things and people leave, people leave, no viewing ads, no viewing ads, no site to stay alive .... it all goes hand in hand ... do right by members and they'll do right by you.

Maybe an idea to do a poll when this is over.

How do we know that the draw will be fair and you just won’t choose your friends

Why not just read the posts on this or the last page?

It says they will be looking to do a live draw for the raffle / lottery. As in we can witness it.

How do we know that the draw will be fair and you just won’t choose your friends

Well, how is that any different then before? lol. So because we host a gb with X qty we never had the option to hold any back before? Just playing devils advocate here.

But really ... if its a LIVE draw and I tell you I'm live in 30 minutes , but once live I dont start the draw for another 10 minutes how am I supposed to fake or run multiple draws when its all live because I dont like who won? its all live ... no redo. My name is not Marty McFly (i wish) Trust me I will have some friends on here who miss out ... But when I miss out on GBs here myself which is quite a few a year I don't make a stink about it. Its life, and if i want it bad enough ill track it down. So the best thing is to be fair.

One thing is for sure, being that there will be such few copies available, most of the names/nicks that will take part in the raffle will NOT be picked. We have lots of time to wrap our heads around that, myself included. We are not owed a copy, it's a chance.

What I think possibly detracts from this "equality" in a raffle sense is that there are clearly members here that have participated in and supported HDN consistently by joining numerous GB's and over the course of a long time too (well before the new GB system was introduced).

Scenario: So a new guy joins up last week and participates in one singular Blufans GB with minimal post count and is just as eligible as the other guy who has been positively active here for perhaps years and/or joined many, many GB's that have supported HDN... (n)

Nothing at all against new members as we were all "noobs" once but in fairness of those that have continually supported HDN across many GB's, I see this as a potential flaw, sadly.

My honest 2¢ but kudos to @Wreck for thinking out the box and being innovative. It's just unfortunate there's never going to be a method that is loved and accepted by all. Blufans just like to keep us on our toes :p

That is a point to consider. But in many ways it’s also the same with the current system though. A new user can beat several long-running members in the «time trial» that is today’s system with popular releases. But then again, that system requires effort, not only luck, and experience can also be an advantage. The old system doesn’t make any difference to old and new members, so would it be fair if there’s a difference to the raffle..? I don’t know, really only thinking out loud here.

How about live youtube streaming using announcements like this:

good idea lol

shame when @Wreck and @cooey do live draw they dont do it like an f.a. cup draw

pick numbers on balls out of a huge glass bowl so people can see, you cant contest that really

example below from 2m 40 in

Although we will then have further discussions about classifying "long time supporters", I absolutely agree with you

But @Wreck , really, you don't have to worry about how to make the draw public, as I would never doubt the results

I have to agree with every point you have made
