i think it was 600 because when i put my request in on the FAC site for the box i think it was 601

It was 600 very recently. That was before the GB started. 600 of each and 500 maniacs. My guess is that they are doing another deadpool scenario, increasing the print when they anticipate demand and changing the print run.

Edit - it could be 600 for the maniacs, I just remember seeing loads of 600 qty which I thought was odd for WEA maniacs box with 3 main slip editions

Hmm so is E1-1K, E2 - 750, E3 - 500, and E4 - 500 correct?
I hope so because with E5A and B thats alot. IMO to many and if it's more it starts to become silly. Why even number them?
I like when total print run for multiple editions is less than 2K

the problem is, most studios require 4k units minimum in Europe, they only allow less (so usually 2k) in Asia.

Then why are there so many FAC releases of 500 or less? I prefer limited personally the more limited the better. Just more fun to collect personally all things equal

shared print run. Those are not WEA steels

what @howarmat said. They can do lower print run on theses, because these editions use the WWA Steelbook. When a company like Filmarena wants to make WEA Steelbook, studios only allow them to do so if they make at least 4000 if in Europe, less if in Asia.

Not exactly true, they can do smaller than 4000 but i still think they pay that price meaning the consumer than pays more per copy. But generally the smaller runs are WWA

It's a WEA steelbook only available from FilmArena
E1 to E3 will sell out very quickly
E4 will also eventually sell out but not as fast as E1-E3

E5A and E5B are not numbered editions these are standard editions that just happen to be the same WEA steelbook
Overall print run of the steelbook on it's own I would estimate is 6,000 and possibly higher

Print run for WEA made in Scanavo Denmark is 4000 or more

2K with FilmArena is when it's a WWA steelbook and is part of a shared print run in Europe
When a retailer has 2,000 of a WWA steelbook
Actual print of these WWA steelbooks are lot higher than 2,000 as they are available in various countries

If they are releasing the editions 5 same as Spider-Man - 500 for the 4K release and 1000 for the 3D release, then the overall print run is a crazy 5750 copies

E1 + E2 + E3 = 2250
E4 maniacs = 2000 (500 x 4 releases inside)
E5 = 1500 (3D + 4K)

E1-E3 It's still going to sell out fast as Spider-Man did and most likely even faster than Spider-Man

E4 will just take a bit longer as Maniacs Editions usually do take longer to sell out due to the price involved
E5B in this edition is numbered (The j-card is numbered)

On their own E5A and E5B is the standard editions unnumbered

It's not crazy when the retailer sells majority of the stock
50% -70% of stock sold at full price = proffit made to the retailer with the release
Any left over stock sold later is a bonus

The steelbook itself is not that limited in these cases, especially when unnumbered editions are offered. It’s more the specific packaging, the slip and the bonus goodies, that are limited. The E1 as a total package is still limited to 1000 even if there’s 10 000 of the steelbook inside.

True.

Besides there are no guarantees that a given artwork will remain "exclusive" to one retailer worldwide. The rights are owned by the studio and if a retailer from another region comes along and decides to do its own wave, once the studio approves, they get access to that artwork as part of a larger catalogue since it will be in the studio's database.

Such has happened with HDZeta's Gladiator (Amazon) and Manta Lab's Kingsman (Amazon and HMV, although the finish was different) for instance.

Take that into consideration and the word "exclusive" doesn't have the same weight as one might think.

now there is one thing I am wondering, why exaclty are E1 and E2 "XL" when the extra "collector's folder" is only shown in E3? is it because the special cards will be thick and blu ray sized so it takes extra space? newbie question, I only have "normal sized" fullslips.

All three editions will be XL with extra collectors folder. It just didn´t fit (or they forgot) to the beauty shots. If you look all three editions have XL in the title.
