Hello everyone,

Almost every steelbook has a dent on the front (bottom left hand corner). You will see it after you removed the blue sticker. :(

Update - apsmith21 - link to freedom88's photo and additional details.

Retailer(s) obtained from:
Amazon.ca
Future Shop

Steelbooks with reported defects:
Most widely Batman Begins (so far) and other titles additionally may have the defect.

When I was at Futureshop I looked over several of them and the ones I looked seemed to be dent free. When I got mine home I examined them very closely and they are all in perfect condition. I still think it might be a problem in Amazon's warehouse and not when they are printed because wouldn't they all be dented.

mine from .ca were all fine except one (batman begins, but it wasnt as bad as other people's) I didnt get 2001 though.

Personally convinced this is a manufacturing defect caused by the labelling machine as everyone who has one seems to be in same position under the label. The cynic in me doesn't think that the stickers were applied to cover up the dent/mark, therefore the dent/mark must have been put there at the same time as the label. Conjecture now but possibly ALL go for labelling at same sime hence the randomness and as the mark is under the label the packers wouldn't see it.

Yeah that makes really good sense! +1

Just checked my BB. I can barely see it but it's there. It's not so bad on the BB because it's one one of the black spots where there's supposed to be the bats. Very hard to recognize on BB but the 2001 looks a lot worse.

I ordered batman begins heat the matrix and goodfellas only goodfellas is damaged by the dint amazon.ca must of none about it due to putting that sticker over the dent

well this is interesting as i ordered Heat, batman begins and matrix from amazon.ca and all 3 were perfect not a dint or mark/scratch on them.

Well I would love to report something, but, mine havent arrived yet...out of customs though with a 46 euro customs bill  Should be here tomorrow :scat: with or without dents:rolleyes:

iv bought batman begins and matrix of someone of a forum hope there not damagedEEK!

why is the custom bill so much in spain?

I am more than happy to help you with your next purchase (at cost) and I can help you avoid duty tax and brokerage fee by marking as "Gift" and putting down a low value like 25 euro.:emb:

I thought it was just one Batman Begins with the defect, but both of mine have it. Amazon is offering 20% off, or they will replace it. What is everyone else doing, going with the discount or getting replacements? I'm afraid that they are going to send two new BB's with the same defect.

What gauge is metal in Steelbook, as that would prove empirically how much force was needed to dent the steel in worstcase scenario. Have the manuifacturers issued any statement yet ?7
Has anyone had a duff copy from Axel rather than Amazon.ca ?

Take the 20% discount. The replacement will have the same dents. And these dents are easily fix.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards it. If there is no guarantee that the new items will not be damaged, there is no point in getting replacements. Plus, they may come in worse shape than the original order. Other than the defects, I got mint copies from amazon.ca.
