Its the same steelbook exact same as Zavvi steelbookThe Kimchi Steelbook blows away this one. I am sure this will satisfy the ant-UK crowd.

I find it mind blowing that anyone who actually owns the steelbook is critisized for having an opinion on it that is anything other than positive.
We're here to discuss steel books are we not? Their good points and what makes them great yes, but objectively we should also be able to comment on their flaws or where we've pre-ordered an item based on one artwork and style (spine title etc) and then received something far inferior.
It's laughable to be critisized by others for expressing any unhappiness with it by people who don't even own it/or have it in hand yet. Perhaps even own it yourself before condemning someone else's opinion?
We're all entitled to an opinion, and as far as forums go, as long as you're talking about the product itself and not attacking, goading or personally harassing anyone, having an opinion is perfectly ok.
Anyone who takes a critical comment on a steel book personally against them, or let's it upset them needs to get out more, sorry, but that's ridiculous. People take online comments about a product they've had nothing to do with in terms of creation or manufacture - as a personal slight, and that's just ridiculous.
People also need to bear in mind that many of us do have have lives, and whilst we love our steelbook collections, and take an avid interest, we have partners, kids, work and families, we don't all have time to sit online and peruse 17 different threads all about one film title that has international releases.
Daily films go up where it's listed as 'xxxxxxx (Taiwan)' followed by multiple other threads with a different country in brackets.
Who has the time (or even energy) to plough through seventeen different threads to look and see if there's any variation. I certainly don't. If you do, congrats, I'm envious of your life with less responsibilities, that doesn't devalue anyone who sees a product, clicks pre-order and then receives something they personally consider lesser quality than what they were sold on.
Even when one territory has the same artwork as another, it's not ALWAYS identical (as someone would have you believe), the new Star Wars steels for example, same artwork, but the German editions have the sub titles in German writing, which I'm sure many would not have expected seeing as they're a worldwide release.
Expressing unhappiness with the quality of print of a £25 steel book is not being negative for negatives sake, it's a fair comment. The Cinderella steel IS dissapointing - to many of us it seems, especially when taking:
A) the price of it into consideration.£25 for a one disc steel with no 3D disc or DVD packed in also is disgusting, especially considering all Disney releases in the u.s (amaray AND slipcase) contain Blu, DVD and digital for £13. We don't even get the sequel film packed in as bonus here which the states has with most Disney blu releases. Talk about getting the short end of the stick.
B) the original artwork we were sold on for our pre-orders was better AND included front and side titles.
Yes, yes, I'm not stupid, I'm fully aware that the 'artwork is subject to change', however, I wouldn't expect the titles to be fully erased from both front and spine, if studios are going to pull that stunt then they shouldn't release any form of preliminary artwork which includes a title anywhere on it in the first place. There is a level of expectation and trading standards to consider here.
Some seem to act like we should be grateful of any steel book release we get, like they've done us a favour and we're ungrateful if there's something about we don't like.
Sorry, but I love my steels, I have a huge collection, and they have cost me a LOT of money. Steels ain't cheap. Especially when you consider most films you buy in steel form cost between £17-35, for a one disc version of a film you can pick up in amaray casing for around £5.
Do I choose to spend that to get a steel book version? Yes I do, and yes, that is my choice.
However, I work in marketing, so the importance of delivering a product which meets expectations of the market is key, or you lose your demographic. Steel book collectors are usually avid movie lovers who want to own films/a directors/a studios - films, in their ultimate iconic form.
A steelbook represents the 'final' (as digital is the way the market is going, so hard copies will phase out) version of that film in an collectable high end format that film buffs can keep and treasure.
So the importance of quality, of both design, content and print is premium, especially when charging such a high retail price for the item, and THAT is why many of us are unhappy with that. Bear in mind also that the actual blue ray disc is exactly the same disc as the amaray version, which has been produced in bulk runs at a cost of pure cents, so the premium price point you're paying for a steel truly is FOR the steel itself.
Some seem more concerned with the inclusion of the 'Frozen' short, like that's the primary reason for even purchasing this blu, and perhaps for them it is.
That doesn't undermine or disqualify anyone's else's opinion who bought the steelbook to own 'Cinderella' in its supposed 'ultra form'.
If it comes with a bonus short of another property on it, neat. That doesn't mean I'm going to ignore any critical or constructive commentary on where the steelbook has flaws, and I find it offensive others are leapt on and accused of being negative for no reason or offending others simply because they're not so easy to please.
Personally I feel it's a let down compared to the quality of many of the other Disney steels, in terms of design AND the quality of the print. It's just murky in hand, and for the price I feel it's incredibly bad value.
That's my opinion, I've not attacked anyone else for liking it, and I'm entitled to it.
If someone else is upset by that I offer no apology, the frozen short seems more than enough compensation for some, and who cares if I don't like it?! Why does that even matter to you? if you do, that's great, I'm really happy for you, express how overjoyed you are with it, just because we disagree it doesn't mean our opinion is any less valid.
Our income flow supports the company putting out these steels just as much as yours. So guess what, if we're unhappy and we stop buying, it's not feasible for the company to continue making them, half their market drops out and then YOU don't get anything. They can't afford to bring in the unit price at a point that makes it worth their while anymore.
So yes, our opinion is just as important as yours, in fact, it's vital, because to ignore quality issues risks people walking away from collecting these at all.
Sorry this is a long post, but last time I checked this forum wasn't a dictatorship, it didn't demand only positive comments, we're here for objective discussion. Anyone who's willing to accept anything and everything any corporation puts out, at any price, and just wants to heap praise on them regardless without anyone else making a comment that counters is or offers a different perspective is best off going to the companies website, rather than engaging with other collectors who are spending their hard earned cash to purchase a product, simply because your opinion may differ.
Peace all. Let's try and respect each other's views a bit more.
Folks the level of personal insults from member to member in some instances has risen to a fever pitch in here. Regardless of your opinion or right to your opinion, by joining any forum, you agree to abide by basic etiquette and respect/guidelines of that forum as part of your membership. Please feel free to disagree, but take any attack dog mentality and personal insults to other forums or continue discussions via pm. Trolling and inciting other members for the sake of arguing is not cool at this site as it poisons the whole focus if having a fun and safe environment to discuss and enjoy collectibles. If you wish to continue to derail threads (any, not just this one), with constant negativity and whining please feel free to take a break from discussions. Thanks.
The issue is that a lot of members keep pushing to see how far they can get away with abusive behavior. The mods really do let some people get away with a lot of negative comments depending on their status. Premium supporters of course can get away with more. I totally understand why they do it though, they are supporting the site and supporting the buying of steels a lot more than say someone like me.
I actually like the steelbook design btw, the shoe looks really nice.
