Mine has just arrived and looks great. Unable to provide pictures but I'm sure someone else will oblige in due course.

Embossed border along with the words 'Close Encounters' from the title.
Gloss extends to the title, the stars (not all that effective) and the top/side edges of the steelbook, weirdly.
Also has clean back art plus inside art. Nothing spectacular but the images complement each other well.

All in all, a very nice package provided you can live without the extras disc.

Ummmmm.....looks a bit dull to what I was expecting. Too much blue going on. Can't really notice any gloss effect on the ship or stars either. Just looks matt to me.

There is no gloss effect to the ship. it's just the stars and the title. The stars are too small for the gloss to be all that effective, though.

This is Zavvi's own description on the listing on their site:

Release Date: 28 July 2013

Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook - includes emboss and gloss on title treatment and gloss on both the stars and spaceship. This product is limited to 4000 copies.

Misleading information again then just like ID4 :(

The embossing looks pretty good and the bark artwork looks decent. Not a bad steelbook overall.:)

I think a glossy spaceship would have looked a bit daft. Really, the whole steelbook needs to be glossy. I'm not one who wants to see gloss on every single release but in this case it would be a marked improvement.

I'm still happy with this overall, though.

Haven't got mine yet but I think it looks good from the pics, nice that there's no credits on the back as well!

Looks nice. Pretty barebones when compared to the digipack I just got, but still... for a single disc steelbook, it looks good with nice artwork.
