i am currently trying to get the OK from zavvi to return this and get refund for both item+return shipping. reason i want to return: item not as described (as discussed in this thread).
this is a picture i just made for them, as they wanted proof.

I share the same disappointment with the low res picture. And how ridiculous embossing only CLOSE ENCOUNTERS but leaving out OF THE THIRD KIND, as if the last three words are not parts of the title.

But wonder how you are going to succeed arguing "item not as described" given that Zavvi's pictures don't show much. I'm in half mind to get a refund too.

Just picked this up second hand on Ebay, £10.98 including postage, obviously with it being up on Ebay this quick, I figured it was someone else not happy with their purchase.

Just wondering if it was anyone from here?

It's unsealed, but doesn't bother me, it's a few quid cheaper than Zavvi, so I'm not fussed.

Why are you typing your rationalization to yourself?

Thanks to the zavvi HDN 10% code i got this for £12 with my rewardz too so couldnt turn it down at that price.

Ive only seen about 45 mins of this film many years ago when i was younger, fell asleep and never seen the rest so looking forward to seeing this again especially in BD!

Got this through, and its 100% mint, a nice change from recent times!

Ive got to say, this is a lovely steelbook. The matte effect is so smooth it just looks pure quality. The embossing and gloss spots are also a nice touch.

Just finished doing the same. Not that bothered to keep it, it isn't that great, serverely lacking in content as well. Wouldn't be bad at all for £5.99 though ;)

They made the mistake of not including the second disc with the must have extras
That's why it did not sell well

£5.99 is a very good price
I expect they will sell out now at that price

Will the studios ever learn when extras are extensive as it was with this release and in fact the extras are better than the film itself

Message to film studios and distributors
DONT DROP EXTRAS FROM STEELBOOK RELEASES

They would have sold at full price all the 4000 if the steelbook was the full 2 disc version

Whilst I am for price drops in general (who isn't?) this is a real kick in the teeth for those who did make the effort to pre-order. To see £9 knocked off the price less than 3 months after the release date is grim.

Price drop around Christmas I can understand but an arbitrary date in October? Does make you wonder the point of pre-ordering as this has happened with a few recently released steels.

I agree its a pain when you pay full price with a pre order
But its hit or miss on if something might sell out depending on the film
Do I wait for a price drop only to see it sell out

But you have to expect this will happen especially when they release steelbook that drops extras it wont sell out and you will get it cheaper
