I can't believe there isn't a thread in here strictly for Beer. Well now there is.

So I'm going to Phoenix and this store is about 3 miles from the house I am renting. I need some recommendations of beer they sell. I'm looking for Hoppy beers please. I've had a few of them they sell but not allot. HELP ME OUT!

on a happier note, a second trip to the monopoly store to pick up what I couldn´t carry home last wednesday

from the left 4x brewdog tokyo, 2x Three Amigos Smeden ( the result from some brewers in training), 5x Oppigårds Ekporter (oakporter, not sure if it´s been on oak barrel or what), 2 x Mikkeller Three Floyds Boogoop and last 1x sierra Nevada Northern Hemisphere Harvest

So I had a good day today. A buddy tipped us off that black note wad being released. It was and here is what a the few of us brought home! We are currently keeping it off the BA forums and letting all the local BAs know. I'm sure some idiot will post sometime soon tho. Oh well enjoy.

central waters had their anniversary party last weekend. i couldnt go, but a friend of mine picked me up 3 bottles of Fourteen Fourteen, an imperial stout aged for 14 months is 14 year Buffalo Trace barrels.

then this week they released their BBBW and Peruvian morning. my wife and i woke up early this morning to make sure we got some! Two 4-packs of the PM and 3 of the BBBW

That's an amazing haul for both of you. I know a lot of my guys down here are super depressed that the bottles of Black Note won't be making their way down here. Only two 1/6 bbl kegs made it to the entire State of Missouri. One was here in STL. From what I heard, it blew right as they finished filling some guy's growler.

they did growler fills on black note? thats a bummer. they've had it on tap at 2 or 3 places here in milwaukee, and they were doing 10oz pours. its nice that way, since more people can enjoy an otherwise very rare beer.

but the insanity that is going on right now on the BA website for that beer is a little over the top. reminds me of the CBS non-sense a few months ago. its a great brew, dont get me wrong, but you could pretty much name your trade right now. makes me wish i woulda spent last saturday driving to and from kalamazoo to pick up 2 bottles to trade.

I would never ever trade more than one bottle of BN for a PiaPT. Why would I wanna get rid of one of a beer that is just as limited and tastes better for a beer that is just ok and the only reason it is hard to get is because its part of a vertical. Its like 020202. its a wit bier but people act like its the greatest beer ever. I had 4 bottles I gave one to a regular trader and just traded one for a Midnight Sun Bar Fly and the guy BM'ed me saying he was throwing in a batch 1 Rosso E Marrone. I thought that was a great deal. I have seen some pretty good offer and some ridiculous though. Like 3 BN for 1 BT 11 haha

Thats crazy i never thought anyone would growler that stuff. It had to be expensive.

On a side note Mobius and I did a trade and I got his end today. I must say he is very generous and I was not expecting to receive all of what I got. The original trade was for the King Henry, Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Stouts and Central Waters Kosmyk Charlie Y2K. Then i get all these other beers!!! I cant wait to start drinking them. I think Abrasive will be the first to go haha. Thanks Mobius!!!

glad it got there safe!! let me know what you think of the NG brews if you remember. the barley wine is more like an ipa/dipa, but i think its fantastic either way.

and i agree with you about the BN, if i were lucky enough to get my hands on some id never trade 2 of them for PiaPT. unless i wanted to throw it up on ebay for a quick $200, haha (jk).

I found out more about that whole deal. It is legit, and he's a member of my local group. It cost him $32 as a growler refill, but he's also going to bring it to a tasting with some friends, so that calmed a lot of people down.

You two are killing me with the King Henry and Black Note trades.

original trade was for the BBA Pt5 and "some shorts beer". ended up getting 6 total of 4 different types of shorts brews, as well as a kuhnhenn 4D and BB 4D!

and that wraps up probably the best two weeks in beer that ill have in a long time. especially since my wife caught on and is now tracking how much i spend on beer per month, hahaha

on Tuesday when my drug was down for maintenance I thought it would be a good time to sort out my beer stash, since I´ve been lazy and not written everything I bought into the xlm doc I have for this purpose nor have I removed what´s no longer in stock

+1 I'm going to pass on it. After the CBS insanity, and the crazy amount of special releases, you have to pace yourself sometimes.
