Thats probably why, harder/more expensive to secure the rights. I would expect the Dawn remake on steel before the original.

As much as I like the original I'd take that. Love the remake of dotd. Film hasn't even been released on blu in the UK yet for some reason.

Arrow still own the Rights to 1985 Version

So we can expect this Steelbook to be the 2008 Remake

I have asked Arrow Video if its there release I had no reply as of yet

Phenomena is an Arrow release and that is supposed to be getting an exclusive Steelbook release through Zavvi. I see no reason why this won't be the original version, especially since this isn't described as ultra limited which all of the recent StudioCanal titles have been and has a slightly higher print run.

Arrow lost the Rights to Dawn of the Dead 1978 and at this moment in Time the rights are in limbo
There is a Planned 3D Remaster Version in the pipeline but no new as to when and if this still happening
