@Wreck In regards to the steel... will it be the glossy embossed UK one, or the flat matte US one? Hopefully the former, as that's a stunner in hand, especially with the shiny gold details.
Holy crap! I had no idea the UK one was different. Don't mean to derail the thread, but are there other Pop Art Steels like this?

Not that I can remember. In fact, the only other glossy Pop Art ones I can think of are the three Ghostbusters steels... I don't recall any others with 'bossing though.

I have that steelbook from Zavvi as well. As odd as this might sound, this is one of a few steelbooks that I actually bought for the disc inside because I didn't have a blu-ray copy of the movie. Almost all of the steelbooks I buy remain sealed. I got it from Zavvi in one of their cheap sales. I didn't realize how good the steelbook was until I received it. I was not expecting gloss and embossing with a border.

When originally discussed it was the uk steel which was miles above the USA one what with the gloss and emboss.

The concept here was that the slipbox served as the black guitar case from the movie. Hence leather slipbox. The clear pet sleeve overlay if you notice also has hinges on the spine thus it looks like a guitar case on your shelf (to the best possible given it’s a movie case ha)

The fuzzy red velvet inside replicates that of the guitar case. When you slide out the slipped movie from the slipbox it’s like when the guitar comes out only to pop open and reveal his weapons.

This was the concept we came up with for a slew of movies that would be an Ultimate Edition line in which editions are based creatively more off elements of the movies themselves.

Now that I’ve said it, I’ll guess we’ll start seeing it. Lol.

I totally get that... except for the hinges, I hadn't noticed those until you mentioned it.

Would people be interested in doing a tiny deposit, let's say $5 and if enough people say "yes", the project would be funded, like Kickstarter? The balance to be paid when the project is done?

Maybe that would be fun for folks, to see it develop that way. Since this mostly sits at the feet of @Wreck, it also depends on when he can fit the project in his spare time with other stuff that he has going on.

If you guys are interested in that, I think there's a shot to make this happen.

I added a poll, so we have a better idea of who would want this to happen. (Votes are always anonymous, members can only see how many people voted)

I'd bite if price is two figures, more than that and I'll have to think about it. What would you expect the lead time to be from 'go' to delivery?

Lot of custom pieces to this. They may require to be sourced from different vendors, then there's always problems. The printer comes in with a proof that doesn't fit, etc

Really hard to answer a question like that, but since this site is no one's day job, and we still do a bunch of other things. So I think you could expect updates as things progress but not a "will be done in a month" or anything like that.

Like Kickstarter, we would wait until the project is funded, and then begin the creation process from there.

Maybe if it's that gloss and embossed version. Otherwise pass. Now if you wanna throw out Once Upon a Time in Mexico, or the whole El Mariachi Trilogy in a nice package, THAT would be worth doing.
