Can't wait for Blufans.

No need to wait for Blufans and pay over the odds . . . just wait six months for the Zavvi/Disney lenticular release with this on the front: ;)

Is the UK confirmed as having some bossing? We could end up with a title BUT flat :wtf:

Confirmed EMBOSSING:
- Front of steelbook = the eye and the framing border
- Back of steelbook = the framing border
. . . or in other words we're getting the international steelbook same as the ones we've seen from Spain (and Germany ?) but the lovely book style spine is reportedly replaced by a basic spine with a title on it.

On this occasion it's very much a case of "Be careful what you wish for".

We won't have long to wait if Disney deliver the stock to Zavvi as expected sometime next week with a release date 6th March
We can expect cards be charged next week on Tue/Wed or Thur with orders despached that week

As soon as Zavvi get delivery it might in their best interests to provide in hand photos especially if it does have a title on the spine

If it don't have the title I look forward to the twitter posts

Personally on this release I'm not that bothered either way if it has a title or not on the spine as it looks good overall even without a title on this occasion

Its true i wouldn't be surprised if zavvi does have a lenticular version by end of this year. They have released must of Disney and other marvel steelbook.

Lovely and stylish zero finish steelbook . . . a fair stab at The Book of the Vishanti from the film (which like most books is matte).

As the idea seems to have been to make this steelbook look as much like an antique book as possible - both inside, outside and spine - I'd say from the few images I've seen that the designers/manufacturers have done a bang-up job, putting previous efforts, to make a steelbook look like a steel-book, into the shade.
If this were a book I'd say that I . . .
- Love the distressed look of the leather covered boards with the rubbed well worn look of years of handling and the faded tooling of the motifs.
- Love the embossed gilded brass eye and elaborately framing.
- Love the way the insides look almost like illustrated manuscript pages.
Very much looking forward to receiving my copy

Steelbooks now exercising the grey matter (LOL) with translations done/to be done for the back of the THOR lenti steelbook as well as for this one and ARRIVAL.
As a steel-book it's nice to see a book-like interior

At least it's 'bossed. I think spot gloss on the "engerized" bits would've looked incredible, though.

I'm curious what we'll get here in the States. Probably flat but fully glossed for maximum  factor.

Considering theres no clear cut lines on the energy though as to where it begins and ends, spot gloss wouldve looked pretty weird on this imo

Zavvi can do one

I'll buy off someone who gives a crap even though I'll be paying more for it

The European editions have no spine title, there is no reason for the English steelbook to have one. Disney doesn't put a spine title on its steelbooks to save production costs and reissue its steelbooks with a title and a lenticular magnet a few months later. Editing this steelbook now with a spine title would be contrary to their commercial policy which consists in making as much money as possible.
Like you, I hope to be wrong, but that would be surprising.
