I sure hope that faint, brownish blob behind Dredd's head and shoulder is not going to be on the final product. That would be an instant dealbreaker for me.

Ah, you're right. In the previous pics it's a bright red glowing effect that gradually fades into the black background (and looks quite nice), but in the latest pics it's just a brown, uniformly flat blob with hard edges, as if the artist was cleaning up the edges of Dredd's head and shoulders with a thick, hard-edged paintbrush tool they thought was set to pure black. Hopefully the finished product will look like all the previous pics.

I'm not a matte-hater like most of the people around here, I have more than a few matte steelbooks that I think work quite well with their overall packages. But this one is just. . . awful. Washed out, no contrast, flat-out dull looking. I sure hope it looks a LOT better under different lighting conditions than those used above.
