Don't worry. For every single person who boycotts Nova there will be another person who will happily replace the one who left. I suppose you can go shop at Zavvi where nothing is ever in high demand. You might get damaged steels in the mail to boot!!!

So far the only flaw and nitpicking I can see with Nova is the server issue. Everything else is Crown Jewel. I like to have high quality releases with proper packaging over lower quality steels with crappy packaging.

Zavvi= Light Beer
Nova= Pendleton

Why can't we have the best of both world? I love some of the Nova releases, I also love some of the British versions Zavvi sell. As for Zavvi releases not being in high demand thats pretty much rubbish. Many titles they release are superb and often end up high in value especially on the European market where many collectors want the cards etc in English to match the films themselves. The fact Nova and other Asian releases fetch higher prices is more down to the fact they have smaller print runs so are harder to track down, as the extra's sometimes included are naff! When Nova etc get it right they are outstanding packages but many aren't any better than some of the releases Zavvi releases.

If people want to boycott Nova they are perfectly entitled to do so, I went through both disasters that was the Winter Soldier episode, and still continue to use them as I like what they sell, but I buy just as many from elsewhere and will continue to do so because they are excellent steelbooks. For those that want the ultimate package in terms of looks and external extra's the Asians win, but for those that want classy steels to show off Zavvi pretty much destroy everyone as more often than not it's the same steelbook with a card cover. I love card covers but the majority of those on show are bare steels to show off how good some of them are.

Oh and the only damaged steel I have had in the last year was from Nova lol! My cap full slip hid a scratched and dented steel that had to be replaced, can't say the same for Zavvi every single one I have ordered from them has been peachy lol. I wonder how many other Cap 2 owners that haven't opened theirs are sitting with badly damaged steels and just don't know it. Nova were very quick to get me a replacement and play nice which pleased me, and also made me less lightly to talk further on it.

wow!!!!! well done all who secured a copy. I had to work so entered the group buy, 50 pages of comments by the time i returned home. This steelbook collecting is enough to [drive] you crazy, kind of wish i was in the mayhem, missed the buzz of trying to secure a top title.

I think that the server problem is one small issue. A much bigger issue is the way that Nova handled that issue. There was no communication whatsoever. I was on my computer at 8 am exactly when the preorder was supposed to be live, but I had to go to work at 9 am and I figured that a broken server plus no response from Novamedia meant that the release would be delayed until a later date. I didn't know that I was supposed to keep checking their broken website for another three hours. HOWEVER, if they would have let us know (by Facebook, by email newsletter, by this forum, etc.), then I would have checked my phone once or twice at work to check in the status. Really, I can't believe that anyone had the patience for this release.

Oh, and I like "high quality releases with proper packaging" too. But I don't like people wasting my time.

Everything in my post is absolutely true. I even stated the only flaw with nova is the server issue. Nova has higher quality exclusives than zavvi by far. Its no contest.

I guess you can ignore it, but tons of people are flocking to the Korea exclusives while cancelling their zavvi orders. How can you even state that isn't true is just amazing and your in denial.

the only flaw..really ???

-All of their Korean Releases have FULL ENGLISH - NO KOREAN Back Artwork. They feel more like USA releases to me. Nor worth the extra $.
-Every single Korean releases by any company whether it's Kimchi or any others, always have back artwork written in Korean. I Believe this is a Flaw IMO.
-We buy Korean releases to have Great Steels + also have the feel of a Korean Release, and not looking like something that could have been made in the US.

To be honest, I'm not actually that mad about missing out or the server issue. While it sucks I didn't get my order in and the whole server thing IS disastrous, what I'm really mad about is the fact the pre-order didn't open up at the time they said it would. All of us who were there on time didn't just have to deal with the site going down with every click, but also that even if it didn't, we couldn't order the thing anyway. It wasn't until how many hours in that the add to cart option actually showed up. There are differing stories about this, but I was one of the lucky ones who managed to get the page to actually load pretty regularly, and as far as my experience goes, the fullslip pre-order didn't open up until ages after the other three.

Drive is an absolutely amazing flick with a very devoted following. This edition is also designed by PLAIN who themselves have a very strong bunch of supporters. There's also the Steelbook collectors and scalpers for whom Drive has become this must-have title. The demand for this was always going to massive. Ordering this was never going to be easy and I don't think there was anybody who wasn't prepared for it selling out within minutes. The real issue is it didn't go up on time, and even when it did it was near-impossible to order. Nova messed up, and they messed up bad. They're still messing up too because even now they haven't even released a statement.

It does amuse me all those complaining about Nova not saying anything and not pulling the title to a later date. Did none of you order the Cap Winter Soldier steel?? Second time round they did exactly the same, granted it didn't take 3 hours but it did take them well over 1 hour after the time set before you could order so many people missed out. I expected this to happen with Drive, no way was this going to be a smooth run with their track record. When it comes to Nova their servers still aren't up to the job so if ordering hope for the best but expect the worst., and definitely expect to be sitting at your PC/Laptop/Phone for a good while button bashing lol!

Got up at 3am (NZ time), kept refreshing for 3 hours and 16 minutes and finally secure my full slip.
Every time I hit check out, either went Magento or thrown back to shopping cart, ended up getting it using my phone.
WHAT A NIGHTMARE.

I'm amazed by the almost fanatical following for this movie. I found the movie ok, quite good, but nothing about it that was particularly great and, on the whole, did not leave me a deep lasting impression. Am curious the reasons for the huge following.

The lack of a public apology or even acknowledgment by Novamedia is just disgraceful and an insult to everyone who had to sit at their computers for 3hrs+ - whether they managed to get an order in or not. In my long steelbook-buying experience, this was the worst and most shambolic pre-order event ever. It smacks of unprofessionalism and doesn't speak well of Nova as a company at all.

The very least Nova could do now is respect all those people who spent precious time trying to spend money with them and make an announcement explaining the issues, apologising for them, and making some solid reassurance that it won't happen again.

Nova shouldn't feel they can just repeatedly heap all kinds of frustrations upon buyers and expect them to happily queue up next time round. There are limits.

"SERVER NOTICE - Around 2hrs Before each Preorder Event our server will be down for around 15mins. This is preparation for the Pre-Order taking place. This will not effect the Pre-order going live but is simply too help the servers stability during high traffic periods"

15 minutes? Minimum 3 hours :hilarious: :D

Hey, I bought a lenti and full slip separately. In all likelyhood I'll probably keep one and trade the other, or I may keep both. Thats my prerogative as a consumer, no? I spent hours trying to get it so why not. Lots of people got all 3 - whats the difference?

Wouldn't anyone that desperately wanted this one have added their name to the group buy already?

You can justify it to yourselves any way you like but given that you only have to look at any one of the 60 odd pages this thread jumped yesterday and in some cases just 1 post above your own, there's an awful lots of your ninja brothers (and sisters) who have missed out on getting this release

You then come on here basically gloating that you might trade yours, minutes after getting it - and even openly saying which high value title you would trade it for

Is it your perogative as a consumer - yes

Is it hugely disrespectful to other ninjas - most definitely yes
