As you can see on this SteelBook case the PS4 logo is plastered on it. (printed on the steelbook)

Do you like this? Or would you rather have console logos either not on them or on a plastic sleeve etc?

Sound off below

PET cover always is nice for those type of markings. I dont mind the title on the steel but the PS4 logo and such isnt needed. Spine would be fine but not the front.

The logos should not be printed. They serve no purpose, game steelbooks are never on shelves for sale, so they aren't even helping advertise the product, they're just an eyesore for anyone paying more for the special edition.

I can't stand the giant PS4 logos on steelbooks

Luckily the two I own don't have them (uncharted 4 and Star Wars battlefront) but I wanted the last guardian steel but the logos ruin it and have stopped me from getting it

I got that horizon game the other day and I didn't realise it had a steel. Nice steel apart from the logos

Man, that Horizon Zero Dawn SteelBook is a beauty! Wish I'd pulled the trigger on the CE, but could justify the price tag just to get the SB. Now that I've played the game, which is amazing, I wish I'd ponied up.

The PS4 logo would look better on the spine. Too much text going on on the front, like @Ashcroft said these are special editions and IMO should be text free. A translucent slipcover or j-card could accompany all the text.

A very big NO! (n)

Having them on the spine is enough, and I do actually like it on there... but adding them any where else is OTT and unattractive. However, if they insist on using them, then I'd rather they put it on a plastic slipcase rather than the Steelbook itself.

@Robsonmonkey Think you might have something to say about this one. ;)

I know what games I have for what consoles, no need for that branding

@Noodles

Thanks man. It's funny I was talking about this a while back on my thread. There's some examples in here guys if you want to see more, it's went on since the PS3 days, even Steelbooks with slipcases

Anyway the logo on the spine is enough but if they really needed to put one on then why not the back of the Steelbook? At least then it's hidden from the front and won't ruin the main attractive of whatever is showing on there, I swear they don't think this stuff through.

Like I was saying in my thread I've seen this mostly in Sony steelbooks while Microsoft, the odd Nintendo and multiplatform games don't have them on anymore.

1) Logos need to be removed along with any other things like the age rating or "Only on Playstation"

2) While we are talking about feedback, please keep the steelbook colourful like the Horizon one above. Sad thing is that's not the steelbook in the collectors edition, the one in that edition is a boring silver looking one with limited colours, these things are supposed to be bright and eye popping unless it's not that kind of game. I've seen silver used alot and it's getting boring now. Just Cause 3 or Kingdom Hearts 1.5/2.5 HD steelbooks are good colourful ones for example.

3) EU spines - We always have the games title over here in a boring generic font. Bold, white and bland while the American steelbooks basically have the franchises logo on there in all its glory.

4) The art has to be better then the standard case. Take DOOM for example, a generic soldier grunt was on the standard box art, people complained and they added a reversible sleeve which was amazing looking. However the steelbook was similar to the standard box art but with a demon on it and good grief it was depressing compared to the amazing reversible sleeve we got. That artwork we got with the reversible sleeve should have been on the steelbook and lets be honest if it was I bet more people would have bought the collectors edition.

I'm kind of curious why this was posted @Wreck. Was it just a random "thing" or is this for a special someone which you cannot confirm or deny :)

I'd prefer no logos in general, but understanding companies do want them. I think on the spine a la studio logos is the best compromise
