There's also this weird tri-fold pamphlet thing--I don't even know what to call it. One side has portraits of our three leads tinted yellow/gold which uses the same artwork as the Steelbook. The other side has stills from the movie each featuring one of the three leads again. The big FOXCATCHER text at the top of each still is even spot glossed.

When you first open the shoebox, you're greeted by another big white box which has the towel on the inside. I didn't bother cracking it open, but it looks quite soft I guess (what else am I supposed to say?). What I love though is that even this box has a sense of being designed about it.

Lift up the towel box, and on the right side you've got another white box. Resting on top is a medal. It's shiny and pretty hefty too and everything you want in a medal I guess. Inside the actual box is one of those plastic wristbands things. I know it's just a plastic wristband, but it's definitely the cheapest feeling and least interesting thing out of everything else in the box.

Oh, and I almost forgot. Here's some pictures of the actual packing box. As usual this was wrapped in a thousand layers of bubble wrap from South Korea's Bubble Wrap Forests and then packed in regular shipping box.

And I'm actually done! PLAIN's shoebox for Foxcatcher definitely lives up to its deluxe name. I don't have any major criticism of it except that maybe the medal and wristband and towel are almost a bit too much. Anyway, it's another notch in their deluxe box belt along with OLD BOY and Carol. I've noticed that PLAIN's regular releases seem to have gotten a bit meh recently, but they've really kept up a high standard with these boxes. I don't know if I'd prefer these big sets over individual releases, and it's nice to see them putting in the effort for something that's marketed as a premium product.

Great package from PA. Sadly the film was a huge yawn fest for me :(
I like the movie enough that I forked out the dosh to buy this, but at the same time I'm not sure how marketable something like this is in the long run. I mean, to be perfectly honest, this isn't a movie I'm going to rewatch constantly or regularly (and I think this applies to many other people including fans as well). In the end I'd love to have something of this quality for a movie I'd enjoy more often, but I also don't see anyone putting out something of this standard for a more "regular" movie either.

Thanks for all the photos @Futurhythm! That was quite an undertaking with all the bonuses in this set. Kinda makes me wish I hadn't cheaped out with just slip A.

As for what to call the tri-fold card, I'd go with triptych.

The film is good. And this package looks awesome. But once you see the film there's kind of no replay value. For me anyway.

Steve Carell is excellent in it though.

I've never had a plain archive steelbook with so many issues. Scrapes, scratches and chips all over the thing and the back debossing is completely missaligned. Not happy

Damn. You contacting PA about it?

I have sent them a message with photos. Really gutted about it because there's quite a lot of scrapes and marks. But im hoping they can send a empty steel. Their quality control is usually so good

Shame it arrived like that, but their CS is also usually very good, so I'm sure they'll happily send you a replacement. Keep us updated!

Sorry to see that, I hope you get a replacement sorted. The alignment did look slightly out on some of the original pics we saw but it was nowhere near that bad.

Cheer mate

Yeah I remember spotting some in their pics a while back but thought it would be sorted out. The marks are just as bad though. So many scrapes and scratches
