Yes, or message seller before bidding to confirm condition of slipcover regarding creased/crushed corners and request cardboard packaging for steelbooks and slipcovered Amarays.
If none of this is forthcoming, particularly for expensive items, then don't bother with him/her and look elsewhere.

Finally plucked up the courage to unseal my copy today and see if there were any nasty surprises lurking under the j-card... thankfully everything seems fine, apart from some very fine surface scratches on the back that can only be seen in certain light. Very happy with it overall! :)

Has anyone noticed if the back and front parts of their steel are out of alignment? I've noticed along the bottom of my copy the back is pushed out maybe 10mm more than the front. Not sure if it's related at all to being 'squeezed' by the shrinkwrap but seems unlikely. If I try to squeeze it back into place I can feel the resistance and it won't realign.

Never seen this before with any steelbook I've owned. Possible its just taken a knock in the mail? What a release to happen with if so. :arghh:

The person doesnt even show the sides which more than likely has a crease in the slip. I would never buy anything unless they showed all sides.

I was not even thinking that far... My concern was the asked price for a still in stock item.
I had a small crease on my slip, barely noticeable except on a certain angle/light. Nowadays it is kind of an exception to receive a mint item, whatever it is. ;)

Its pretty hard to get one that are perfect looking. Almost have to accept some imperfections considering they are not housed or shipped in bombproof packaging.

Same over here, happy with it, there's nothing at the back, so no worries about the scratches

Decided to open mine as well, as with many other it is covered in fine scratches. Still a good looking steelbook with a nice finish to it.
Has Zavvi or Eureka addressed this issue yet? I would expect at least one of them to come out and say something about it.

. . . or, to clarify, if I'd paid 50 quid no way would I open it . . . would wait for cancellations to pick up a second watchable copy for the "right price".
If no cancellations appear I'd keep the 50 quid steelbook sealed and would buy the Amaray to watch (same discs/same content).

It's a popular title, arguably Zavvi's most in-demand release in years. They're probably just building hype. I'd be very surprised if this didn't come back in stock.
