Maybe it's just me but I really couldn't give a rats ass about the spine. The characters tell you what steel it is. As long as the general artwork is good the spine is utterly irrelevant to me

The front and back artwork on this is really cute and well done, so what if they don't put the title on the spine. Still each to their own I guess!

Totally agree.

Monsters University wasn't that good a movie either. Still not seen Frozen yet but ordered it as heard its great

It's very enjoyable. One could argue that was maybe a little too much singing, but maybe that's just me. I loved that the female charcters had some strength, and didn't live by the whims of the male characters. A real step in the right direction, Disney.

I took my daughter (age 6) to watch this earlier this evening, she loved it and I thought it was really good too...but would have to agree with previous Ninja's - too much singing at the beginning! But the snowman is wicked!

Still unsure of this Steelbook from a design p.o.v £25 is a bit much I think (personally like the monsters university one but think the back should have been the front!)

I watched the movie with my little daughter too. She loved the movie and the singing. So I think Disney made the right decision and the steelbook is a must-buy. :D

my 3 year old twin girls love this film. All they now do is sing and dance to "let it go" non stop. Day one purchase from me. I prefer the new art. Spine is annoying but not going to stop me getting this. esp with the extra 10% now off.

My whole family including me loved this film. It has been seen multiple times. We have the CD of the soundtrack which seems to be on continuos loop in my house.

Day one purchase for me;)

Idea to please fans:

Hear me out, a transparent slipcover with the Title on the Front and spine...and maybe the ratings/other info on the back. That way you can have the Titles when shelved and displayed, you can take it out and appreciate the art on its own, and you have a minimalistic protective sleeve. This would be a pretty cost-effective and practical remedy.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea actually. That could work well!! My only concern is that with the protective sleeve, I'm sure a lot of people buy the steel shells etc, which can turn out to be expensive after awhile, is that the cost would be put onto the customer which after profit mark up, I think may start getting pricey!
But still think it's a bloody good idea!

Well, like the artwork change or hate it... this may be the best bet for us Stateside looking to get the 3D version... Disney postpoining indefinitely the 3D blu release in the US:

Sounds like they are going to try to milk some more theatrical 3D tickets here.

Or trying to steer people to digital copies (3D version will apparently be available on Vudu).

They may be just waiting for 4K to establish itself in the marketplace. 3D is an entirely different and better experience when viewed on a 4K display. I think a lot of sceptic's will be won over when they see how good it looks on 4K.
I would not be surprised if the marketing people at the big studios have decided to scale back the sale of 3D discs now and then try to flog them to the public all over again with 4K- basically profiting from all 2D sales now and then hoping on flogging the 3D versions of the same movies to everyone all over again later.
Personally myself, and a lot of other people I know, have been waiting for 4K to even consider a 3D set up.

So a bit like the original What Lies Beneath case and slip?

When I see the ridiculous amounts of money people have been paying for mediocre, drab and sub standard steelbooks in 2013 (and now in 2014 with 'Ralph' and 'Fantasia')...I'm not sure if the added cost cost of a steel shell is a big deal? :wtf:

I think something like these...'Let Me In' has a plastic sleeve with info printed on it and it covers the original case and 'Aladdin' has a clear plastic sleeve...these types are much handier and tidier than the plastic bags. They cost a bit more obviously but with people throwing 24.99 away at rubbish steelbooks these days whats another 70p or so?
