click on SHOW on the top thread of any page, to see the artwork of each of them and they slide sideways, like a slip on.

---------- Post added at 12:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:18 PM ----------

in the section on top thread :

***Item artwork and details: (prices excludes shipping)
There are 4 different editions.

Not the pre order gifts etc...

Sorry, I'm still confused of what you're asking. There's 1 Steelbook, and 4 different slips, just like in the pictures you're talking about.

yes 1 steel, but if you go on the Top Thread by apsmith21, where the big grey square above states;

Item Artwork and details (prices excludes shipping)

They are 4 button ''SHOW'' one for each version, when you click on each of them it show the artwork of the cover with the steel sliding in from the side.

the square I'm talking about on Top Thread is right bellow the red bold writing ''The first day limited 3 copies per id.''

under that you will find a grey square and above it it will say Item Artwork and Details.

Within that square there will be 4 SHOW button one for each version.
It also shows the price of each version.

and when you click on them it shows the artwork and the steel sliding sideways into the Artwork Cover.

Pretty sure they are slipboxes instead of slipcovers. People just keep saying Slips :D I remember Kevin saying at one point that BF was moving towards slipboxes

Yes, that's correct. I guess we've just been talking about the same thing the whole time.

Harry said there would be 4 slips, 3 of which are Lenticular. That's all correct. Olaf is a regular slip, as in it's not Lenticular. They all slide in the side like previous blufans slips.

Yeah, I think that's where we were getting mixed up. "Slips" could mean either Slipboxes or Slipcovers.

I guess we've been talking about same thing it's just someone stated that they were Lenticular, a lenticular (for example Kimchi Monsters inc) slides in from the top. Blufans will be slip ons like previous release, I guess it's that one reply that stated they will be lenticular that I found misleading.

They are lenticular. They'll just glue the lenticular part to the slipbox, if that's what it turns out being.

but that is not a lenticular, a lenticular slides in from the TOP. Those will be slip covers(from the side).

whatever they decide to dress up the box with whatever they want, still doesn't make it a lenticular.

Kimchi Frozen Exclusive = Lenticular

Yeah, they're still lenticular. I think you're confused to what Lenticular means. Lenticular is that 3d effect they use.

I think you're also confusing slipcovers and slipboxes.

Lenticular printing is a technology in which lenticular lenses (a technology that is also used for 3D displays) are used to produce printed images with an illusion of depth, or the ability to change or move as the image is viewed from different angles.

What he said. Germany and other countries make magnetic lenticular cards that affix to the front of steelbooks. It has nothing to do with what kind of slip they use because those steels have no slips

i guess I'm so used with everybody up until now calling Lenticular that 3d slip on cover from the top (like Kimchi), First time I guess I've heard the term Lenticular on a slip on box.

But I guess we've meant the same thing all along, I never disagreed that the cover of Elsa Anna and the EU will have a 3D effect, it just I guess got thrown off by the word lenticular(that gave me the impression he mean that it would slide in from the top like a Kimchi release), but I get what you are saying but it can be misleading with the way we always use Lenticular when we describe Kimchi releases which is often.

Yeah, Lenticular just means the effect used. Has absolutely nothing to do with what kind of slip is used. Just like wjasoncul said, there are those German Lenticular Steelbooks that have no slip whatsoever. There's also that Futureshop Looper.

Thanks for explaining, it's appreciated. It's just when I came into collecting everybody was referring the Kimchi Lenticular(and not specifying that they are slip ons) they automatically used the term Lenticular and ever since I've assumed that a Lenticular was what Kimchi was putting out there, the style that slides in from the top. as they do not give detail on the type of lenticular and just used the word, I got the preconceived notion that a Lenticular was always a slip cover from the top

BUT THANK YOU GUYS FOR EXPLAINING !!!

The way we always use lenticular is to describe lenticulars, not just a style of Kimchi release.

Examples of lenticulars:
Avatar (magnetic)

Life of Pi (magnetic)

Man of Steel (magnetic) [Wal-Mart exclusive] *I put mine on the back

Oz (slipcover) [Blufans exclusive]

Tangled (slipcover) [Kimchi exclusive]

According to Kevin, the invoices will not be issued until closer to the end of July.:scat::LOL:

This is due to the recent invoice for the remainder of UP Collector's Set, then followed by Pacific Rim at the begining of July.

Wow... which means we likely wont have these in hand until mid-August at earliest. Yeah thats the problem with blufans. They do good releases.. just not consistent with timing.

I just got a headache reading about this non-argument. :hilarious:

Actarus, if you go into a bookstore and look in the children's section, you'll find quite a few books with lenticular covers. This technology has been around for decades, at least since I was a fartling barely able to read. All I would notice is that the books had a cool moving effect on the cover, therefore the book must be awesome. Which was exactly what the publishers wanted.

Even with this cleared up, for your sake (well for everyone's sake really) I would in the future assume that when the words "slip", "slipcover", "slipcase", "slider", and "cardboard wraparound" are used by someone, they can all mean any of those things, because plenty of people don't make a distinction and even if such a distinction were pointed out to them, they just wouldn't give a damn.

I would bet money that at some point in the history of mankind, one of these has been referred to as "That thing that Uncle Jimmy obsesses about because he has no kids, only buys video games and movies, and is a freak about that crap." [Unspoken] "Sometimes I really wonder about that guy. Maybe I shouldn't let the children play with him too much."

ever since I started collecting early this year, there was the famous Kimchi releases that ''were only referred to as Lenticulars'', no more info were given anywhere: the people on ebay + us when when we spoke about it, automatically we would just refer to them as Lentis and we knew we were referring as slip on covers from the top on the specific releases we were discussing or buying on ebay(as well as other companies that made slip on covers that also we were referring as Lenticulars), so if everytime someone just refers to those in that manner it might be normal that I became to think that this was it, that is where the confusion came from.

But never the less the discussion is over on this subject, they were kind enough to explain me and ''it would be nice not to bring resolved discussions back on the table when there is no need to''.
