Will be interesting to see the savings this being discless should be approx US$20 per edition give or take. Sure going discless is a loophole to navigate restrictions like the disc being banned in China or disc faults that had to be recalled but no way this should be the norm for Disney Premiums going forward wether they are coming out of mainland China or Hong Kong.

“There is an unique situation about the release I would like to share that with you. Ideally, Fanatic planned to include both of the movie 2D BD (No 3D and 4K disc available from Disney HK) and OST CD for the WEA steelbook. However, Blu-Ray Disc is still in a Pending Approval status. That means if Fanatic can’t receive the final BD approval in time. The release will be featured only in an OST format. Therefore, the release might be YMMV in terms of how important the movie disc to you. For some, it might not be a much bigger issue since you can put your own movie disc into the 2-hub WEA steelbook. I can't speak for others. If that is the case at the end, the obvious benefit is that the price will be relatively cheaper, whereas the quality for the whole package will not be compromised. [...] The slipcase concept artwork for the complete package should be revealed later tonight. Please stay tuned! Many thanks again!“

What I don’t understand about this is how can a BD disc be pending approval where the 4K and 3D isn’t available in Hong Kong but yet 4K and BD was available for Fanatics Captain Marvel and Endgame? Which makes me question is this due to the sheer quantities of discs that needs to be sourced for a WEA print run, the reason I ask is look at the discs found in Endgame and Captain Marvel Fanatics they don’t look very Chinese like they normally do or has things changed as of late? So it seems a WWA Premium is a lot more achievable for discs where even a 2K print run for this WEA Frozen not so much and just scraping by to even get BD’s.

To me, not having the official discs with it make it as unofficial as a bootleg. By putting your own discs in it makes it less official and incomplete.

Being sold without the discs will make it more official then putting in your own discs in. Sounds crazy!!

Good question about the discs. I haven't noticed of course.

Me neither till after I read Kevin’s post and decided to dig deeper. Fair enough you can go discless on a WWA edition to navigate restrictions but when you pull this stunt on a WEA 2K+ print run the stakes have risen as this is where the crème de la crème of steelbook products and collecting is in 2020 and to have it without any BD discs it’s essentially an incomplete product. I agree that it is less official as it could have been as they couldn’t get the discs approved for a Blu-Ray Steelbook Premium release and for me personally that’s not good enough for a WEA product which I hope doesn’t becomes more acceptable and continue into the future. I agree with you this is Disney’s fault 110% but yet this will be an instant sellout because of the IP involved so Disney will get away with this scot free and that’s what pisses me off the most.

Speaking from non-experience, I imagine releasing a WWA without discs is harder than a WEA without discs. After all those WWA and discs should be sourced from the same place, the distributor. Not so with a WEA steelbook, where the steel is sourced from Scanavo and the discs from the distributor.
If it is incomplete it's on Disney. That's where we should focus our anger.

And it is also cheaper so some collectors will buy it even when they wouldnt for a higher price. So maybe even more demand

Western films always had the English title on physical media in Hong Kong, even on the discs

Yep just confirmed with my Manta Labs checks out  Still doesn’t explain why they can’t get approval on a standard BD when they havent had an issues in the past with a smaller quantity.

love the way everyone says issue is between disney and blufans its NOT :hilarious:
the issue is directly between all the distributors and disney.
disney want x $ per disc and all the distributors have got together and agreed there NOT paying what disney want and that is where the deadlock EXACTLY lies.
until what the distributors consider a fair price this is NOT going to change. they have all formed a circle of trust.
disney wont back down and neither will the distributors.
i do love where people surmise and you all been at it for weeks now. without the correct conclusion for a long while its laughable. i thought just put the correct info here, so you can all stop snipping at each other whilst trying to guess.
this will be the long haul cos once agreement is reached it be for a long time, not just these releases.
but at the moment is in deadlock and will remains so till one side gives out.

those are the facts
enjoy
