Is there any way to get slight creasing from rolling up a poster out? I got a print that came in a yazoo tube and has this problem, should I just take an iron to it?

Got a picture of the crease? It depends on how bad it is... you should try a method called "Spooning" first. Where you take a spoon and try to spoon out the crease from the back side of the print... but again it depends on how bad the crease is.

I'll try to post a pic when it's frame arrives. Not a big fan of taking them out of the tube until I'm ready to display them. It's really not bad at all just want to restore it, you can't even see it in the front of the print.

Damn tube to frame .... I cant manage that .... Tube > Flatten for weeks > Frame.

I think folks even say you're supposed to ... something about the fibers needing time to flatten right. (some technical mumbo jumbo)

Definitely wouldn't recommend keeping your posters in tubes. Especially if you mean to frame them. Forget the tech mumbo jumbo, it is just crazy difficult trying to frame something that wants to curl continuously. Plus you are much more likely to damage it when you do end up flattening it into the frame

Yeah I tried that once, it was a nightmare. (least for me)

How am I supposed to store them then. I just got the Matt Fergeson LoTR trilogy set and am likely to get other things in the future, like the CA and Iron man posters just released. I can't keep them all in frames all the time.

Matboard sandwich. Get two pieces of acid free matboard, some bulldog clips.... flatten or semi-flatten your prints first.... then stick the the prints between the two matboard's and put the bulldog clips on around and your done. Oh and you can put some tissue paper or glassine between the prints if you like as well, personally I use acid free poly bags. I know I posted a picture a while back of my matboard sandwich that I used to use sometime ago, it might still be here somewhere.

EDIT: I found the pictures... here they are.

Storing prints in tubes is a bad idea, like really bad. :stop:

Firstly, the longer they are rolled in, the harder it will be to flatten all the waves and roll bends. Secondly, the tubes and kraft paper are some of the worst and most acidic protection. They keep posters from getting smashed, but the acid they are seeping into your print will turn them to yellow after some time.

If you are not planning to frame your poster, store it in portfolio case or buy acid free (mylar) sleeves and store it in a cardboard box. It will cost you some extra money, but at least you will still have poster in mint condition and it will not lose it's value.

You can get everything for storing prints here:

I believe all movie posters before the 80s were always folded. Any 'magic' process to relieve those creases?
(I have many classic movie posters that are that way. I only discovered after looking for a non-folded Close Encounters poster, that before the late 70s/early 80s- posters were just always folded...and was told that I would be lucky to find one that wasn't...and if I did it was most likely a reprint).

I'd say just live with the fold lines as that's the way it is, but if you really want to have a "mint" looking poster you can have it linen backed. However, I do believe the linen backing will devalue the poster.

@Wreck Sorry I'm not sure if this is the correct thread to post this. So please remove if it's not allowed.
But I'm really looking for Jurassic Park mondo poster Stan and Vince version, is there anyone in here got one for sale? Or maybe give me some hints where I can get one besides eBay?
Thank you!!

Theres a poster trading section in the marketplace subforums: Link.
Though I think your best bet would be to check out expressobeans as they have more people selling prints.
