From IMDB:
From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team–the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
With: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector.

Just came back from it.
Wow... the audience and I had a blast! SO much laught, GREAT laught! Rocket, Quill, Groot... oh Groot... you don't talk much DAMN you made me smile. As @kbr1656 said, just before the credits (or mid-credits), it was really A MOMENT there!!!
My favorite aspect is that they introduce us quite nicely to the characters. Quill of course, but what touched me the most, is when Rocket got drunk and told everyone NOT to laught at him... and then... show us how much pain he must have gone thru his life...

I knew NOTHING about The Guardians (Gamora is T's daughter???, Who's Quill father???), but now I can say I'm a fan and I cannot wait for 2017!!!

That after-credit scene:

Lame... hated that character when I was Young...

Finally, you're wondering when you hear so much hype building around a movie if it's THAT good... well... IT'S THAT GOOD!!! Can't wait for rewatching it!

Great comedy. Good to see Cosmo. And from what it looks like, the Celestials first used the Infinity Stones to shape the universe.

My only complaint is that Ronan was underused.

^^Quill's father is J-Son of the Spartax Empire, so he is technically royalty.

The movie was awesome with soooo many good laughs. Batista needs a little more work on his acting chops but he wasn't bad. My complaint about Ronan was that I didn't get enough story on him and his motives. Simply telling the audience that he is a radical and the treaty offended him wasn't enough for me. AND THE MUSIC WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Loved Every Minute of this! GotG was so much fun! It's one of those kind of movies where you can't wait to go and watch again.

I got chills watching the Thanos Scene! I wanted more!!!

and that end credits scene was SO random. haha Wasn't expecting that AT ALL. very funny surprise.

The Guardians are here to stay! Most fun I've had at the theatre this year or in previous years for that matter. The cast were excellent... Chris Pratt -- man, with this and Jurassic World next year, this guy has a BIG future ahead of him. Zoe kicked ass as usual, Bautista definitely expanded his acting chops and shocked me... Big Vin as Groot and Bradley as Rocket = perfect casting! Karen Gillan was AWESOME as Nebula and Lee Pace nailed Ronan! Thanos... oh, Thanos. I can't wait to see him go toe-to-toe with the Avengers! This was adventure at its absolute finest. There hasn't been a sci-fi/adventure of this calibre in YEARS! Thank you Joss Whedon for talking Kevin Feige and Marvel into taking a chance with James Gunn. That man has churned out some of my favourite films over the years and I was so happy to see him get a shot at a film of this scale! I love my Marvel movies and The Avengers could possibly still be my favourite, but Guardians of the Galaxy was easily the most exciting and absolute funniest out of them all. It may not have a bunch of big actors and it may not have recognizable characters, but GotG stands above them all.
