Watched first 2 eps of American Horror Story...

I'm not really sure why we needed a constantly naked Dylan McDermott... especially his wonderful jerk-off scene, as we get to to view his naked ass while he pounds one out.

Wonderful TV.

Other then being riddled with cliche and constant man-ass (seemingly a theme for FX shows... very edgy stuff, FX, way to go)... it was actually pretty decent.

But when was the last time a horror TV show got to end on its own accord? Harper's Island was planned for a 1 season arc, so at least it got to tell the first story, but they planned to tell more. Then there was that Twin Peaks-ish show that crashed and burned pretty quickly...

I just can't remember any straight-up horror that had a solid run. Maybe X-Files? Even Twin Peaks got shafted, right?

Hey DB, have you seen the remakes of Last House on the Left, and I Spit on Your Grave? Great revenge movies

Not to step on DB's toes...

But I really liked the Last House remake. Tony Goldwyn (the dad) rules... see Kuffs and Jason Lives. :)

Haven't seen I Spit remake yet... It was pretty much DTV, so I haven't gotten around to netflixing it yet, fearing for the worst.

My (almost) 4 yr old daughter is obsessed with Ernest Scared Stupid. Got it for her a few weeks ago cause she loves scary stuff.

Yeah the kids love Ernest, too bad he died at such an early age. I used to watch and watch and watch all of the Ernest movies with my older nieces and nephews, and I would laugh my ass off right along side them.

JP if you enjoyed Last House, then you should like Spit on your Grave. It is a bit more gruesome, but very much same tones.EEK!

Sigill, I almost walked out of 'The Rite',LOL..the book however was pretty interesting....

Did you not like it DB, I thought it was decent. Anthony Hopkins played a pretty good role but then he always does! I did think the ending was a bit poor though, there was an alternate ending on the BD and I think they should have used that. It was a bit more scary!

Did you get it on Blu, can I ask if it's region free. I haven't been able to find out anywhere. I love the Ernest movies!

Sigill --

Didn't realize there was a blu-ray for it, dammit! I got mine 2nd hand used (dvd). :)

jp, I always go on Amazon.com to see if a BD is available. My nephew let me borrow his copy of Doomsday, never heard of it before. As soon as the movie ended I went on Amazon and picked up a used BD for 4 bucks

Sigill, I generally dont like funny horror movies. The book had a much more serious tone so I was hoping the movie did too. For me the scenes with Hopkins who is an excellent actor were just ridiculous with all of the over the top humor. It just didn't work for me...

Yeah, I love Amazon... but Wreck had actually pointed me to a cool used book/dvd store here in Phoenix and I finally made it down to browse. When I saw Ernest Scared Stupid, a movie I haven't thought of in almost 2 decades... I figured 'what the hell' and grabbed it cheap for my daughter.

I don't think the BD will offer much improvement on THAT movie's pq. ;)

I'm going to be watching "Attack the Block" in about an hour! :D

I thought that was a "gangsta" hip hop movie, What is it about?
