Steelbook & Collecting FAQ's:

Q: Where can I find a list of Steelbooks released?

A: blu-raysteelbooks.com

Q: Can I play movies contained inside Steelbooks on my Blu-Ray Player?

A: It depends-Blu-Rays are coded with Region A, B or C. Most Blu-Rays are "unlocked", regardless of what region they are, but it's always a good idea to check this forum or web resources before buying, as some are "locked".

Q: What are the differences between Steelbooks™, Iron Packs™, Metal Paks™, Viva Metal Boxes, Tins, etc?

A: Check out pics and discussion in our forum here

Q: What does "G1" and "G2" mean when discussing Steelbooks?

A: "G1" (1st Generation) refers to a Blu-Ray in a DVD-sized case. And "G2" (2nd Generation) refers to a Blu-Ray in a Blu-Ray-sized case.

Q: How to fix a loose disc on a steelbook you want to keep factory sealed that came with a floater?

A: Fixing a loose disc

Q: How do I navigate international shopping sites?

A: You can download a free 'add on' for most browsers called 'Google Translate'. Once you have it installed, the pages will translate automatically.

Q: I have many more questions-is there a general list of links to help me learn about Steelbooks, protecting them, etc?

A: Yes, here

Steelbook, I forgot to mention this before. Save all your emails that you've received and sent as well as any receipts that you have after shipping them back. Also any pictures that you've taken of the damaged SteelBooks as well as the box that they came in. This way in case your CC company needs the proof that you did send them back and you did receive damaged SteelBooks that you'll have it at hand.

For anybody else that gets damaged steels and plan to send them back I would document everything. Pictures and email. The more information you have to present to Amazon or any other company or even your CC company the better off you are for that company siding towards you and getting your money back or getting a replacement. Just wanted to put that out there for everyone.

Wondering if anybody knows

ordered Warrior , Attack The Block and Red State from Amazon.de roughly out the same time, all one order .Now Red State's release as been pushed back.

my question is will the other 2 ship on the 24th or will they be held until march when Red state is out
Thanks

Don't mean to sound insulting or patronising but have you checked the order. They do sometimes split deliver from DE to UK, but might be different for long distances. Also if they do split delivery the shipping costs are split pro rata eg 2/3 and 1/3 which is quite handy.

JB, aside from direct link, SP provided, to navigate to it, just visit the Steelbook Trading Forum. Once there look at the top, in the 'stickied' area, for 'Price Drops'. Once in the thread, you can subscribe to that thread to get instant, or daily updates. Enjoy! Also sent PM.

UK users buying from Canada

As I have just had an order of 3 from planetaxel.com where 1 arrived perfect, 1 had a slight dent and 1 had a major dent :( I feel a need to ask for help!

If it wasnt for the dodgy packing they seem to have quite a good set up as for postage costs and getting around the customer paying customs charges by going through Europe based warehouses. But bad packing is bad packing so the rest really doesnt matter :emb:

Ive also read on here about amazon.ca being very bad for packaging so guess the same applies until they hopefuly catch up with the quality .de are using now. Also if you order more than one at a time your likely to be hit with customs charges.

I havent been able to find any mention of users ordering from futureshop.ca so any help on this would be good, even if its just to say they dont ship to the UK!

Just wanted to ask opinions of UK users who have brought from any other Canadian sites or have good things to say about the already mentioned ones regarding shipping costs/packaging/customs costs etc and any suggestions on other ones youve used.

Sorry for the lengthy post but there are a few Canadian Steels i want so any additional info would be very helpful to me and possibly other UK users :oohyeah:

welcome to the forums zesty, I've moved your post to here - there should be quite a bit of information available on this thread.

quick question

is there a way or any advice of fixing steelbooks

i'm focusing more on dings and paint scratches

Hi Big, 'dings' are tough. We have some links related to 'fixing' in the 'Master' thread stickied in the Steelbook forum. If all else fails, try the 'Damages/Sympathies' thread in the Master thread. I am sure you're not alone-most people have dings at some point. Good luck!
