I Am Legend German Blu-ray SteelBook has carried a nice value over the past year in the $100+ range but it seems like its about to be rereleased which could bring its value down.

UPDATE: Yes it was re-released and the extreme value of IAL transferred over to the FutureShop version. This IAL isnt worth much these days and can still be had off of German amazon.

Jeez, I never scored any IAL long ago and never have been willing to fork over an insane amount for IAL FS. IAL German I've never been to fond of ... I'm more a fan of the BR collector set.
 
Can anyone give me some advice on this release.
I bought it from Germany it was advertised as the rare first release steelbook.
The shrink wrapping that it came with it totally different to the one uploaded originally on this thread.
Mine is just a regular shrink wrap but the other one has the strip to tear the plastic wrapper off. I have uploaded my photos to compare
Is there anyway to tell the first release apart from the re release, and do you think I have been mis-sold this title?

Terry, without opening it, I can tell you for certain that's definitely the 2nd release. The first release was issued before the FSK logo was in effect for Germany.

Yeah, I think they do. The reprint is exactly the same, 100%, with the exclusion of that a "biohazard sticker" was included in the original pressing, as I remember.

Also, the 2nd print would also have that fold over shrink wrap with the tear away on the bottom front as visible.

The first print would have the shrink as you see it in your version, but it would not have the FSK logo at all, I don't think.

So it says to me that either your version was a resealed 2nd print, purchased in store, or it was resealed by the seller. Hard to tell.

I got three of these in the mail yesterday. YOu could tell the difference in the blu banner size. One is shorter than the other. Wich one is the original?
 
Hey chip, I got my copies yesterday too. But the one without the logo sticker has a different shrink wrap than that pictured in the OP. However its blu banner is the same height as the one with the logo sticker. Both shrink wraps do not have the blu-ray strip nor the fold over tear away type like apsmith described. The challenge (and fun part) now is to decide which one to open to know for sure. :D
 
As I remember, never see any re-release for this german version. What I think is just like the 1st Saving Private Ryan German Steelie. Amazon.de just got back some stocks from somewhere for clearenace sale only. Guess all of your owned are the 1st release.
