I've been sick for like 4 or 5 weeks and just can't seem to shake this crap. Last night I was advised to go into the ER (my doctor's office was closed) and found at that I have pneumonia. I'm really hoping these antibiotics work quickly cuz, I really just wanna get healthy. And, coughing up blood is about to make me vomit. Seriously, it just tastes nasty.

Anyboydy else constantly sick for some reason?

my step dad has pnemonia for the second time this year already he just checked in again to the ER. watch out for the medicine alot of it gives you halusinations and other side effects all the stuff that fixes you is what they give you in the hospital.

Dam :( I hope you get better soon Thunda. I know bumpylemon has been sick for a weeks too. Keeps posting updates on facebook about having a temperature the last two or three weeks.

That SUUUUCKS Thunda, I hope you get better fast. Antiobiotics make me feel worse initially but the turn around is usually within 3 or 4 days.

Let that be a lesson to all of ya! Going more than a week with strong symptoms of being sick warrants a visit to the doc. ESPECIALLY if you have hemotypsis (blood from coughing).

Growing up I got sick all the time with strep, I used to get sick 2 times a month sometimes more. Finally at 13 I got my tonsils removed. The worse time to get sick is after having a baby. A couple weeks after having Lexy I got sick with Bronchitis, worse time of my life. Now I get sick but not as much. I have to stay away from sick people because I have a low immune system. If you're sick and I'm around you, I will be sick next week. One thing I don't like about Wreck is that he hardly gets sick. I can't stand it because he rubs it in. Hope you feel better soon! Get lots of rest, that always helps.

i was the same way. id get strep just about every month. the nurses at the doctors office got to know me pretty quick.

you do anything to boost your immune system? eating yogurt frequently can help. if you take a multivitamin i wouldn't take anything other than vits C and D unless its at pretty low doses. taking a D supplement of 600-1000 units can actually help you out a ton, specially since you live in indy and dont get a ton of sun (the only way to naturally get vit D).

i got mildly sick a couple weeks ago and was taking a gram of vitamin C daily on top of drinking things like juice. i cant say for sure if it helped, but i felt better in like 2 days vs usually 4-7 for me. theres no danger in taking excess vitamin C since its water soluble you just piss out all the rest that you dont use. dont take too much for too long though, otherwise you could give yourself scurvy if you abruptly stop (arrrrr!)

just my 2 cents :D

another solution is to live in a bubble

but then people would always be pressing their chests on it or doing the "mouth on the glass and blow" thing and all you could do is helplessly ask someone to wipe off the streaks left behind...

LMAO

I do, it's called my apartment. I didn't go out that much this winter and almost every time I went out, I got sick.

what did they put you on?

hope you feel better soon!

They ended up giving me 1 gram of Recephin by IV. Also gave me 500mg of Azythromycin by IV. And then put me on 250 mg of Azythromycin tabs for 5 days.

I was completely wiped for a few days. Would wake up at about 1pm and would eat breakfast/lunch and would be back in bed asleep about an hour after that. Would wake up for dinner and then back to sleep.

Feeling much better now, still a little tired and still have that annoying cough which will take probably another week to completely go away.

It was so nice having all of last week off of work, but it sucked that I had to sleep it all away.
