Plain Archive is excited to announce the release of I Saw The Devil Steelbook. We've been asked by Blue Kino, another Korean Blu-ray company to design the Steelbook edition which will be PLAIN ARCHIVE's exclusive.
We were hoping to release the world's first Steelbook edition of I Saw The Devil, but Zavvi announced its own before we could. The news made us reconsider the project, but with director Kim Jee-woon's support, we couldn't drop it.
I Saw The Devil Steelbook will be released under the approval of director Kim, and we are working on the artwork as we speak.

Okeydokey, I will assume the task to bash this.

I don't like it a bit.
The front title is very weird place on that dude head/hair.
A Kim Jee Woon thing is pointless.
And the last and the biggest disappointment is the spine, who the hell is happy about that.
People don't be afraid to speak your mind, I am 100% sure that there are many that agree with me.

IMO they could have done better!

I like the Korean title on the spine due to kind of originality. It is original movie title because this is Korean movie. It makes more unique this steelbook than any other releases from overseas. Also PA always make their own exclusive artwork and original title instead of conventional things we've already seen before. This is why I like PA's Blu-ray.

as for the spine critisizm: you know what that is guys? the ORIGINAL korean title. i'm happy to see them going the way of using the original movie title there. it's a korean release of a korean movie, so why should they only use english language...?

KJW is one of S. Korea's most successful (and marketable) exports as directors go. Don't see it as any more pointless than the films of Tarantino, Ridley Scott, Kurosawa etc that always have their names emblazoned all over their works packaging without fail.

This will be a definite day one purchase for me, and the spine is PERFECT, and exactly as it should be.

As much as I love this design, wonder why the design pattern is kind of similar to 'The Wrestler'. I mean, a close up pic of the face with random splattered patterns in different colors on top. Of course the cropping and color gradients are different, but there is something similar to both IMO.

Edit: Just cancelled the Zavvi order. All in on this one.

Their previous release The Wrestler Blu-ray Steelbook is horrible looking as in terrible in my opinion

Zavvi version is not that bad looking and has English title and price is ok
