Well, the 3D gives the background more depth and some shots look even cooler. But it's just a visual tool. I don't mind 3D if the directors knows how to use it. Did you ever watch an animated movie in 3D? They look stunning.

Depends from where it is shipped. My Pacific Tin arrived a bit banged up due to poor packaging.
