Just to warn you guys Zavvi have royally scr#^ed me over. I checked out my order for the three Indy steels using PayPal, since every time I use my credit or debit card with zavvi it ends up getting frozen by my bank and the fraud protection squad leap in (likely because zavvi are offshore). I've gone through three cards now where this has happened and every single time I've had to cancel all my direct debits, subscriptions etc, total pain.

Anyhow I digress, I checked out with PayPal for these, and today I recieved an email from zavvi to tell my my payment failed and that I won't be getting these steelbooks as they've cancelled my order, and to be told:

'You can simply order your items again from our online store'

Oh thanks zavvi, that's great, does that come with a time machine also so I can shoot back several months to before they were sold out? So now my steelbooks are sat at zavvis depot, and I'm unable to buy them or change the payment or anything. What great customer service.

The email told me to call a number, which I did, which then had a recorded messages saying there is no customer services and I have to use e-form on the website. Totally diabolical. Even when they do reply, you can't email them back, you have to go back through the website all over again and locate your order history and then use the form. It's just terrible terrible customer service.

I spoke to PayPal themselves (who comparatively were very easy to get hold of) and they said the time out on any PayPal order is usually 30 days and if payment isn't taken by then they cancel it/it times out. Considering I have around 11 other steels preordered with zavvi currently, all checked out with PayPal also I'm now completely sc%#^# over. Absolutely ridiculous, and now I'll miss out on these totally, despite having looked forward to them for over a year. Atrocious, and I'll be writing an article slating their customer service for my column, appalling.

@Stuc PayPal and Zavvi are rarely a good mix.

Did you have any funds actually in your PayPal account, or do you have it linked to your bank/credit card and it just pulls automatically if you charge something?

I've got over £200 actually in my PayPal account, that's what's so ridiculous about it! The woman at PayPal I spoke to said it was simply because the precharge timed out as the order was placed over a year ago, which makes sense, I mean if that's their timing it's fine, you'd think a charge would be taken before a year was up naturally, it's more the point that zavvi kept delaying these and didn't think through the consequences of this.

They could have at least emailed customers to warn them orders that aren't charged 'within X time period' will fail so please change your payment options. It's the complete lack of customer service and the fact they've just outright cancelled my order without a second thought or trying to sort it out with me somehow that's got me infuriated. I spend thousands a year with zavvi as I'm sure many of us do and to have my no longer available items just cancelled like that without a second thought, appalling customer service.

Weird. Ordered this last year when it first went up. Since then the card I used has expired, but also received email confirming despatch today. Checked my account and it appears Zavvi updated my card details automatically. So won't have any further delay in getting this. Fantastic!

I've noticed this, I changed my payment details for one of the Indy steels and it's automatically changed to the new payment details for the rest of the Indy steels,; Zavvi doing something right for a change :p

If you've had to change your payment on another order, all your existing orders get updated with the new card details.

Payment problems for three Indy preorders because I ordered them with PayPal. Added my credit card some weeks ago.
Now I sent them a mail to use the credit card they already know.
I hope it will work.EEK!

So I had ordered the 3 indies on my old card, declined. I went into payment options and set one of my current cards as the new favourite. The other 2 indies have come up as payment problem as well. Do I need to delete my current cards of my account and re enter my card details as a new card? Im confussed?

Also includes Zavvi Exclusive Stanley knife as a free gift for being patient [emoji14]

Also very useful for slashing your wrists - or just self-inflicting every time you receive a bent Steel and Zavvi give you the runaround and try to palm you off with a couple of quid discount :)

SmcBeath - two of my cards were hacked and so I had the payment problem flagged up - I just changed it to a remaining active card and it transferred everything over after just doing it with one item.

I feel your pain, I can't even switch the payment over to my card as my bank freeze it every time I buy anything off zavvi, it's not worth the headache, they've just lost a customer

Is anyone else even getting the PayPal checkout option anymore? It's not appearing for me, perhaps they wanted a larger cut for providing them with a checkout service. Something's off here...
