The hype is here, Quentin Tarantino’s latest flick is soon to make home media release. Now what could be a better way of making a bang in the Blu-ray Collectors world than say perhaps a limited steelbook release? Of course, the actual steel is actually apart of a german collectors steelbook edition release which comes loaded with goodies, plush, schwag, trinkets etc. Whether or not the SteelBook will actually have any difference than its regular german SteelBook edition counterpart is still up in the air. More than likely, no. Just the extra stuff is making this limited to 1000 copies. The set it scheduled to release on January 14th 2010.

this thing will rise in value, but could you imagine how much it would be worth if the steel inside was something totally exclusive?

Yeah tell me about it, I almost fell out of my chair when I saw that some are going for!, I still think the swastika being censored was a bad move but understandable. However, I do like the embossing of the steelbook itself.

I wonder if this french release will be limited at all, and if it is totally identical to this German one. If it is, there goes the value of my 2nd box haha.

Inglourious Basterds - German Limited Edition

Hello - I recently bought the Inglorious Basterds limited edition box set, German exclusive

This is advertised as blu ray- received it yesterday and on the back of the packaging, all I see is DVD logos, nothing to indicate there is a blu ray within. Still sealed as I don't want to open it yet. Does anyone own this and if so, is this meant to be a DVD or blu ray set?

Keen to know whether I've been sent the wrong thing or whether it's advertised incorrectly.

Thanks!

As Metal Hunter said there are 2 versions of this. The Blu-ray version should have a Blu-ray logo on it. It sounds like you have got the wrong version. How much did you pay as the DVD one should be a lot cheaper then the Blu-ray one. That one is rare now and can be expensive.

Thanks - I paid 100 (odd) Euros - have returned it now and opted for the DVD version which is much cheaper. Still quite a few blu-ray versions available via resellers on Amazon.de upto 140 odd Euros
