I tried the code first time and it worked immediately.

doesnt the usa standard amaray release include a bonus disc or was the 2nd disc a dvd?
The U.K. 2010 release "TRIPLE PLAY INCLUDES: BLU-RAY + DVD + DIGITAL COPY Available FOR A LIMITED TIME 3-DISC SET INCLUDES DIGITAL COPY AND NEARLY 3 HOURS OF BONUS FEATURES" which I have in front of me comprises :-

DISC 1 = BLU-RAY FEATURE FILM + SPECIAL FEATURES
DISC 2 = BD disc of SPECIAL FEATURES
DISC 3 - DVD FEATURE FILM + DIGITAL COPY OF FEATURE FILM

In more detail:-
DISC 1 SPECIAL FEATURES
- S.H.I.E.L.D. DATA VAULT: AN IN-DEPTH LOOK AT THE MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE HD
- COMMENTARY BY DIRECTOR JON FAVREAU
- AND MORE !
DISC 2 SPECIAL FEATURES
- ULTIMATE IRON MAN: 4-PART "MAKING OF" DOCUMENTARY HD
- 6 BEHIND-THE-SCENES FEATURETTES INCLUDING STARK EXPO AND THE ORIGINS OF BLACK WIDOW AND WAR MACHINE HD
- 8 DELETED SCENES HD
- AND MORE !

Got to say, after looking at all that, I feel a bit short-changed with this steelbook . . . LOL

P.S. "Available for a LIMITED TIME !" (as printed on the sticker on the front) in 2010 and still available from Amazon "Only 4 left in stock" five years later ;)

Typical member bashing in all it's glory.

I will never understand this obsession for 3D with people older than 12.

Random age insult whilst trying to reinforce their opinion, check

95% of the time it's just a cashgrab imo,

Random statistical figure that isn't factual, check.

and I don't think any of the Marvel movies released in 3D have made anyone go "oh look, 3D actually enhances the experience throughout the film on many occasions, I'm glad I paid an extra", which is something you could say for a handful of films only (too bad so many films tried to follow Avatar...).

Ending with whiny comment about how x is bad because of y, check.

Thanks to all who helped w/ the 10% discount. Just pre-ordered. Once this arrives I can get rid of my play.com steel.

Oh, I'm in a heated argument, how exciting. Okay, I will also do it pedantically line by line:

Random age insult whilst trying to reinforce their opinion, check

Yes, I find 3D to be a childish gimmick.

I said 12 years old, so random I know :squint:, but when I think of people getting excited by 3D itself, or clamoring for it, it could be a bit younger than that. Thomas Evans wasn't doing that, he was just reporting the lack of a (non-existant) 3D disc. I wasn't insulting him (especially someone with such a cool first name), just commenting on how it seems we need to have 3D for everything now, with 3D re-releases, 3D conversions in post-production to grab more money (not that many films shot in 3D are that spectacular or different from conversions in post), and of course the Blu-ray situation where retailers are happy to charge 5 euros/dollars more for a 3D disc.

Random statistical figure that isn't factual, check.

You're right, of course it's not 95%, it's actually 94,47%, I should have fact-checked that statistical metaphor to emphasize my personal opinion about how most films don't need 3D but have it anyway because $.

Ending with whiny comment about how x is bad because of y, check.

What's wrong with "how x is bad because of y"? That's one of the ways I and people in general try to make a point. :wow: Just because you disagree doesn't mean that's whining.

I recently saw The Walk in 3D (great film - unless other people disagree). While 3D was interesting in some sequences (the ones with wires have depth, the hard candy scene, or the security cable falling "towards" the viewers), when I think back about the film I don't see it as necessary over two hours, just a few scenes really benefiting from it. I'd rather have brighter colors and not paying extra dough, instead.

Guardians is amazing in 3D but the others have not been great at all (not seen age of ultron in 3D though)

You're right, 3D did bring something to that film (GotG stands out from all the other Marvel films in many other aspects, too :)).

I'm not saying 3D is pointless every time. I'm sure it will work great with Star Wars, for instance.

It's just that in general, it seems 3D is the rule for every PG-13 big-budget movie*, not the exception (Nolan's films, old franchises like Mission Impossible, James Bond, Fast & Furious), and it should be the other way around: have 3D only when it actually brings something to the experience. CHUCKED

I was thinking that the Hunger Games was a notable tentpole movie not in 3D, but Mockingjay Part II was released in 3D (the previous three films weren't). Btw, out of the top 22 movies of the past 365 days, only seven weren't released in 3D : American Sniper (small-ish $58M budget, rated R), Spectre, Furious 7, Mission Impossible 5, Straight Outta Compton (small budget, rated R), Pitch Perfect 2 (small budget), and 50 Shades of Gray (small budget, rated R). Unless you have a director/producer with serious clout, a franchise that got very popular without 3D or surprise small-budget hits, studios plague big movies with that gimmick.

* And 3D is also the rule for 99% of animated films coming from big US studios - boo, another non-factual statistical figure used to make a point :D (about how 3D is targeting "persons of a young age" :bucktooth:).

Now, about Iron Man 2, I ordered with @dLux's 10% code (thanks!), since I don't have it in DVD or Blu-ray. I wasn't in the steelbook game when the Play.com version was released. But yeah, generic background behind Iron Man and War Machine is a disappointment, smells like a quick copy/paste job :penguin:.
