Everybody keeps using that saying "Zavvi are just taking the piss now". I'm not from the UK so pardon me if I seem out of place, but I had never once heard that before seeing it on HDN, and now I've seen it probably 20+ times. At first I thought I didn't know what it means, but I'm pretty sure that I'm getting the hang of it now.

I am in the camp that believes Zavvi can charge whatever they want. They are the retailer. We are the buyers. Take it or leave it.

For those occasions where "taking the piss" doesn't cut it, I tend to say extracting the urine instead.

It's true, Zavvi can charge whatever they like. The main reason for that is they know people will end up buying it from them in the end.

Iron Man 3 is £23.99, not £22.99 (yes the £1 rise in price from the Disney steels is annoying). And that's in GBP, not USD. It's much more than $25 USD.

Also, I don't understand the rest of your post. Read through it 3 times but I just don't get your point in relation to the Iron Man 3 steelbook price.

US $ this Iron Man steel is around $37.35.
At $25 it would be around £16. Which is around what a majority of people see, my self included, as a reasonable price.

I'm skipping this Steel as well as Jungle Book and the Little Mermaid as well, as much as it pains me to miss the Disney Steelbooks. Above £20 for a slandered Blu-ray release as a steelbook is too high for my liking.

Yeah I am not buying this. Will buy the German release for 15 Euros (more than 10 GBP cheaper!) and with better artwork and better packaging and a better customer service (Amazon.de).

23.99 for a steelbook like this is a big rip-off IMHO.

dont forget Play.com Prometheus (biggest new release of last year) was also limited to 8k

Anyway, IM3 is gonna be released all over the world. we aint heard nothing from what Future Shop Canada, USA Best Buy/Wallmart, or Media Market in Germany are doin - so dont feel like u got no choice cause there will be loads of opportunities to get IM3, probably with all 3 discs at a better price, and maybe with exclusive art too

.....failing all that, u all could just wait for the 2015 zavvi re-release

Lol tbh I would've prefered this to be a triple play atleast if not with the 3D, but a single disc plus the premium price is abit of a overflow, as I recall I think the avengers was only £16.99 from hmv on release for a single disc?

I messaged Zavvi about the price.

You won't seriously be charging us £23.99 for a one disc Iron Man 3 Steelbook? I can't see how it could cost that much?

Hello Dino, thanks for the message. The price does seem a little high. I will look into this with the marketing department. Should this be an error then the website will be updated shortly. Many thanks, Jordan

I think Zavvi should increase the cost of International postage and passing the savings to us in the UK or only ship to the UK like Walmart, Best Buy. This way pricing can be kept low.

A bit unfair IMO. Do you really believe they are subsidizing the non-UK buyers by charging extra to UK? Don't forget though that all buyers pay the same price for the steelbook itself. And then you've got folks outside of US like me in Asia, where I pay £10 shipping per order too!

I am not sure how much they charge the buyers outside US / Australia etc. but yes, they are subsidizing by increasing the price and asking us in the UK to absorb the cost to offer low cost of shipping overseas. This is an inconvenient truth which many won't understand.:(

How about asking Walmart, FS, Best Buy, Target to ship overseas for 99 pence?

Lol...dude, they are not shipping for 99 pence. The prices we pay for these SBs should make that all the more obvious to you.

Besides, you should also try to realize just how many buyers they get from outside the UK, as well as the fact that they do charge VAT, as opposed to Amazon UK.
