I had a tough decision to make last night as I've always told myself that $200 was my max for a steelbook so unfortunately I chose not to meet up with him. I know that its pretty anti-climatic but I believe I made the right decision especially when the Play.com version (might) be using the same artwork.

You stuck to your principles, nothing wrong with that...as long as you're ok :D

My wife's trying to get me to offload my Iron Man FS steelbook. Her rationale being I could buy a bunch more steelbook with the funds (including the upcoming Play.com version).

... but I like the one I have! So torn. I know in a couple of years, this will be worthless once the SB mania dies down, so the smart thing would be to jump ship now, but it's a pretty cool little piece at the same time.

If you ever want to get rid of it I'm in Port Moody so no shipping involved.

Bluray's are going to be around a decade or so more at least IMO and steel books aren't going anywhere (they've been around since dvd days).... Just my 2 cents.

Even if it were the same art work (it won't be) those who don't have the Future Shop IM will always want it :oohyeah:

Iron man futureshop in 'good' condition so not sealed or anything went for £80!

That's cheap still I wish I watched the clock countdown now!

Has a few minor scratches/marks due to being on a shelf please see pics and a tiny dent pic 4.

A few minor scratches? Looks like someone's had a go at it with a bit of sandpaper :(

Yeah I can't believe someone would treat a steelbook in that way I can't hav something in my collection unless it is near mint at the very least!

I honestly think the new version (Play.com) is much more beautiful than this one. I'm aware of it's value for collectors due to it's rarity, but in my opinion the beauty of the steelbook is what matters.

I agree, but there's also something really cool about owning an item that is rare and hard to find.

i would have bidded on that too, had play.com not had the upcoming beauty.
always said i would take a damaged copy for under £100 lol.
crazy really, for a piece of tin that sits on the shelf not being seen for 99.9% of its life, but im addicted.

Its easy to be biased but I still think this one's nicer. Ill have both soon so I can better judge at that time but this is still the nicest Iron Man steel in my book.
